We recently acquired the Lordship of Ennerdale Cumbria with special rights over some 17,000 acres of forests, glacial lakes, rivers and waterfalls. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thus, we are doing all we can to protect nature and national treasures. We encourage everyone to try to plant 10-100 trees during their lifetime. That could be 100 BILLION Trees in the next few decades. https://lnkd.in/dwrWMWT4

Victoria Falls, located on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, is one of the world’s largest and most spectacular waterfalls. Its local name, “Mosi-oa-Tunya,” means “The Smoke That Thunders,” aptly describing the powerful roar and mist created by its massive cascades. Here are some fascinating facts about Victoria Falls:
Natural Wonder: Victoria Falls is classified as the largest waterfall in the world based on its combined width of 1,708 meters (5,604 ft) and height of 108 meters (354 ft).
UNESCO World Heritage Site: It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1989 due to its outstanding geological and ecological significance.
David Livingstone: The Scottish explorer David Livingstone was the first European to see the falls in 1855, and he named them after Queen Victoria of Britain.
Devil’s Pool: During the dry season, a natural rock pool known as Devil’s Pool forms on the edge of the falls, allowing daring swimmers to splash just feet from the precipice.
Rainbow Falls: Victoria Falls produces a permanent mist, creating stunning rainbows visible almost every day, especially during the morning and evening.
Adventure Capital: It’s a haven for adrenaline junkies, offering activities like bungee jumping, white-water rafting, and helicopter flights over the falls.
Flora and Fauna: The surrounding rainforest is home to diverse wildlife, including vervet monkeys, baboons, and various bird species like the African fish eagle.
River Zambezi: Victoria Falls is formed by the Zambezi River, the fourth-longest river in Africa, which flows through six countries before reaching the Indian Ocean.
Dry Season vs. Wet Season: The volume of water flowing over the falls varies dramatically between the dry season (October to December) and the wet season (February to May), offering visitors different experiences.

🌍🇺🇲"Like most countries, America also offers various geographical features and natural wonders. Its rivers, coastlines, mountainous regions, forests, and national parks are renowned worldwide.
Here are some details about a few places:
1. **Yellowstone National Park:** It's America's first national park located in the states of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. It encompasses geothermal features, forests, lakes, and more.
2. **Grand Canyon:** Situated between Arizona and Nevada, it's a massive gorge carved by the Colorado River, reaching depths of approximately 1 mile.
3. **Hawaiian Islands:** Each island of Hawaii is famous for its unique beauty and coastal landscapes.
4. **Coastal Areas:** For example, the western coast of California, the Keys Coast of Florida, and the beaches near the city of Seattle.🦈🐠😍
5. **Mountainous Regions:** The Rocky Mountains, Appalachian Mountains, and the Sierra Nevada's mountainous areas are famous.🏞️
These are just a few examples, but America has many more beautiful places that attract tourists from around the world."🏞️🇺🇲🗻

Plantain Garden Fault Zone--Sightseeing & Traversing.
--
The Plantain Garden Fault Zone is one of the most active earthquake zones on mainland Jamaica. It is also the fault zone that is part of the devastating Haiti Earthquake fault zone: Enriquillo. The Plantain Garden Fault Zone is said to be moving left predominantly (mm scale per year). This movement over many years, has resulted in hills & valleys shifting (left & right) relative to this fault zone. River courses such as the Plantain Garden River are also controlled significantly by the Plantain Garden Fault Zone. This, among other geo-tectonic features, uniquely shapes St.Thomas, Jamaica.

World Monuments Fund Watch 2025
Conservationists plan to propose the Kazhuveli watershed region in Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu, for nomination to the World Monuments Fund Watch 2025 programme.
This region, spanning 740 sq. km. from Gingee to Marakkanam and up to the Auroville plateau, features an ancient Eri (tank) network crucial for sustaining agricultural practices over millennia.
The proposal aims to address the decline of this historic water management system and its cultural heritage.
The World Monuments Watch, launched in 1996, is a biennial program that highlights heritage sites globally nominated by individuals and community-based organizations.
It is a program by the World Monuments Fund (WMF) that raises awareness about cultural heritage around the world that is threatened by conflict, vandalism, disaster, or neglect
The story behind Athens being adorned with parrots since the late 80s remains an intriguing urban legend. While the exact origin of their arrival in Greece remains a mystery, one tale suggests a truckload of parrots from India making a daring escape during customs control.
What's fascinating is how these non-native species have seamlessly adapted to the Athenian environment, thriving in the absence of natural predators and flourishing in temperate climates akin to those of Greece. The skyline here is now graced by mainly two species: the free-spirited green parrots and their more urbanized gray-faced counterparts.
The green parrots, dwellers of treetops and sky, exemplify freedom in the urban landscape, never stooping to the level of street begging. On the other hand, the gray-faced ones, akin to urban apartment builders, have adapted to a diverse diet and crafted their own niche in the city's foliage.
Unlike their European counterparts causing conflicts in neighboring fields, our parrot population seems to coexist peacefully within Athens. Experts believe they pose no threat to native species, harmonizing beautifully with the Greek ecosystem.
The remarkable comments by Dr. Chris Stringer regarding the Neanderthals' ability to plan and build 'stone structures' hundreds of meters below surface, constitue an important recogniton of this groups's achievements.
We've postulated that hundreds of millenniums before the advent of the #HomoSapiens, the Neanderthals had planned and built out Atlantis (Antillia) island. It had 'sunk' under the waters of today's Drake Passage (also possibly in the north of the Isla de los Estados, Argentina) before 200 kya; the island was divide by channels (so far only observed at the sea bottom to the south of the Isla de los Estados) and probably was full of these planned & well built 'stone structures'. #Neanderthal#Atlantis#Vanara#DrakePassage#IsladelosEstados
