Can you tell us a bit about what you do?   Ben: "I check and maintain the integrity and wetness of cardboard on the factory line. I have to self-manage my time and allocate enough to ensure the checks are completed to the highest company standard and are a proud product that the company would put forward to clients."   2. What does this job mean to you?   Ben: "It means I can safely go to work and learn new skills while creating lasting friendships in the workforce. After 12 years of being a chef, I get to have weekends and nights off to spend with my family, which means more than the world to me.”   3. What is your favourite thing about your job?   Ben: "My favorite thing is that I can learn new skills and move up in the workplace chain. I feel like a valued member of my team and I look forward to coming in each day and being treated with respect and integrity."   Ben, your dedication and positive impact on the team haven't gone unnoticed. This was a great panel event. Honest accounts of the highs and lows of juggling parenting with career progression, as well as tips to manage day-to-day. Key takeaways for me included: 🕵️Get to know your team - don't assume that just because someone is a parent that their circumstances will be the same as other parents in your team. 👨🏾🍼Parent out loud - being honest (and sometimes vulnerable) about your responsibilities at home can help you feel you can be yourself at work. Spending less energy on hiding what's happening in your personal life can help you to focus more on working efficiently and effectively. 🎯 Flexibility and empathy is key - lead with empathy and compassion to get the best out of people. Look after your people and your people will smash their goals/targets. It's great to know that our senior leaders are human and that they're willing to be brave and share their experiences so that the rest of us can benefit. Meet Tony! Tony is a Crew Leader for our site improvement division. He is what we like to call a “generational team member,” meaning his father Jose also worked with us for many years. How cool is that?! ILT Vignocchi chose him as our featured team member this month because he is one of the hardest working people you’ll ever meet, always ensuring he does a top notch job.
