The Disability Services and Inclusion Act 2023 (the DSI Act) commenced on 1 January 2024, replacing the Disability Services Act 1986. The new Act introduces a mandatory code of conduct for all Commonwealth disability services, strengthening quality and safeguard arrangements for people with disability. The Act also allows the Australian Government to fund supports and services outside the National Disability Insurance Scheme, to help ensure the right supports are available to all people with disability.
