I am excited to share that today marks my first day as a Human Resources Specialist at Mayer Brown! As I begin the next chapter of my career, I want to sincerely thank my colleagues who have helped me grow over the past 3.5 years at Swoon (Miranda Sullivan, PHR, Georgina McSharry, Marzena Lyszczarczyk, Conroy Leary, and many more). I am so grateful!

So proud of you, Georgina McSharry, for winning Swooner of the Quarter!!! Thanks for all that you do for Swoon & for always bringing a smile to everyone's face :) #proud #humanresources #hr
Wanted to take a moment to shout out this gem of teammate Georgina McSharry, who won Swooner of the Quarter! This peer nominated award is given to one Swoon employee each quarter, and recognizes Swooners who consistently go above and beyond, embody our motto of Listen,Place, Care, and are all around top knotch teammates. It was only a matter of time before Georgina McSharry was the recipient of this award! I think my fellow Swooners put it best when they said; “Georgina is a critical part of Swoon’s HR team” “I feel thankful that I can go to her with any question or ask for advice” “She is a shear joy to work with” “Able to help me with every question I have” “I’d be lost without her” It’s all true and thensome! Thanks Georgina McSharry for all that you do for Swoon! #winnerwinnerchickendinner #hrrockstar #employeeofthequarter

After months of studying, including what seemed like countless practice exams and taking a weekly night class after work, I am proud to say I passed my PHR exam this evening and am now officially certified! Special shout out to Miranda Sullivan, PHR for being the biggest cheerleader. Happy Friday everyone! #phr #hrci #certified #hr

Did you know, July is Disability Pride Month? For many disabled people, seeing the words "disability" and "pride" in the same sentence is a novel concept. People with disabilities have traditionally been made to feel 'less than' and ashamed of their disability by society. This needs to change. Below is the Disability Pride Flag, created by Ann Magrill, a disabled woman, and each of its elements sybolizes a different part of the disability community. 🖤 The Black Field: this field is to represent the disabled people who have lost their lives due not only to their illness, but also to negligence, suicide, and eugenics. 🌈 The colors: each color on the flag represents a different aspect of disability or impairment: ❤️ Red: physical disabilities 💛 Yellow: cognitive and intellectual disabilities 🤍 White: invisible and undiagnosed disabilities 💙 Blue: mental illness 💚 Green: sensory perception disabilities Disability pride is about embracing one's identity and living among systems of ableism. We as a society need to do better. The social model says someone has a disability, yet it's society that disables them. It's inacessibility that's the disabling thing, not some problem deep within that needs to be fixed. I encourage you to think about ways we can be more inclusive to individuals with disabilities - it's a team effort and one we need to conquer together.
