Amazing people, exciting work: Always try to start the job with great colleagues. It can't stress enough about the culture you have which acts as a catalyst to innovate, try new things, not to be afraid of failures. You should challenge and at the same time encouraged to find creative ways to solve problems. Always be grateful to the great leaders, they have who inspire you every day to be passionate and to love your job & career. Learning is what you love about your job the most, and you would do it even if you didn't get paid. This isn't just about the technology, although you love that too, for me it's also about finding ways to be more effective. Taking a Risk With The Family- In 2019, my 13-year-old daughter expressed a desire to launch a bakery sales business at our local farmers market. Taking on the role of a supportive parent, I dedicated evenings and weekends to assist, primarily offering consultative guidance as she was passionate about creating a family business. Given our family name, Nagel, the logical choice was to specialize in bagels, and thus, Nagel’s Bagels was born (https://lnkd.in/epvrYtPn). To formalize our venture, I established an LLC and undertook the project of setting up a dedicated bakery space in our basement, separate from our family kitchen. The enterprise gained popularity within our community and among local friends. As our weekly presence at the market approached each May, our family rallied together, pooling efforts to buy supplies, prepare ingredients, and ensure seamless operations on Saturday mornings. This collective involvement allowed my two daughters, wife, and myself to engage with neighbors and forge new friendships. In June 2022, a realtor presented us with an opportunity to acquire a shop on Main Street. Despite recognizing the considerable commitment it entailed, we saw it as a chance to instill a strong work ethic in our daughters and create a lasting legacy. The decision gained additional significance when, in September, I was laid off from my job. Contemplating the potential success of the bakery, I envisioned sustaining our livelihood through the business and decided to empower my daughters to manage all aspects independently. Transitioning from a career-focused mindset to prioritizing family and investing time and resources, especially in the absence of alternative income, presented challenges. As of January 2024, I am actively seeking a new professional role, reflecting on the risks assumed since September 2022. Despite the uncertainties, I consider the experience a blessing, providing my daughters with valuable lessons in navigating challenges and overcoming difficulties. The unexpected layoff served as a buffer, allowing me to be a safety net for them during this entrepreneurial journey. While I anticipate returning to my career path, the time spent supporting my young entrepreneurs has proven to be a meaningful and an enriching gift.

Love these posts from the Ginsberg's Foods team. Great job of establishing the brand of a company by featuring the people who make the company what it is. How is Ginsberg's, a regional food distributor, going to stand out when so many products are commoditized? They showcase their people. I want to open a restaurant just to buy from this guy, and from the team that he considers family. Branding isn't just marketing to potential customers. It is also attracting additional employees and making the enterprise/company/brand more attractive to other companies as partners. The road to ‘figuring’ it out can be long at times. Be it a new job in a new region. A reasonable rental space near your college. The perfect recipe for that perfect pizza’s dough. To connecting well with your colleagues and doing amazing at work. It will be tiring, a big YES but it will be worth it, a bigger YES. This is where my career began. As a wide-eyed 17-year-old, I embarked on my first job armed with little more than determination and a willingness to learn. Little did I know that my humble beginnings as a potato peeler would lay the groundwork for valuable skills and insights that would shape my career path. In the bustling kitchen of Nyeri Kenchic Inn, surrounded by the clatter of cutlery, I embraced the art of precision and efficiency. Each potato became more than just a vegetable; it was an opportunity to hone my attention to detail and commitment to quality. While some might overlook the significance of peeling potatoes, I embraced the task with gusto, recognizing it as an essential component of the culinary masterpiece we were crafting. Through repetitive motions and steady hands, I learned the importance of consistency and perseverance — qualities that would serve me well in future endeavors. Moreover, the kitchen environment fostered a sense of teamwork and camaraderie that left an indelible mark on my work ethic. Whether it was supporting fellow staff during hectic lunchtime rushes or celebrating small victories together, I discovered the power of collaboration in achieving shared goals. Beyond the physical act of peeling potatoes, this experience instilled within me a sense of pride in my work, no matter how seemingly mundane. It taught me that every task, no matter how small, contributes to the greater success of the team. As I reflect on my journey from potato peeler to award-winning coach and training facilitator, I carry with me the invaluable lessons learned in that humble kitchen. It's a reminder that every opportunity, no matter how modest, has the potential to shape our future if approached with an open mind and a willingness to grow. So, while my journey may have begun with a simple potato and a peeler, it has evolved into a story of resilience, growth, and unwavering determination to excel in whatever task lies ahead.
