Growing up , No one asks you what your favorite dinosaur is anymore. Mine is Blue the velociraptor. They are highly intelligent pack animals, very fast , and work amazingly in small packs of 3 to 6 raptors. Now let's bring this topic to how you can apply it to whatever industry you are in. The reason I bring up this topic is because people have been taught to be very robotic and unhuman in the corporate world. There are times to be serious and professional but when did becoming a professional equal losing humility. Often hear people say they miss the "good ole days " . Why is there so much clout from past achievements 🤔 Yes, it is great to look back at your achievements and be proud of where you are today because of it. But, when did the past you over ride the person you are now? Where's the celebration for the person that you are now in present time? Does all the hardwork you put into your goals now irrelevant because you got the trophy? Life is a journey not a destination. Same applies to your professional life. There is reason behind why asking fun questions is beneficial to the workplace People change as they go through life but one thing that doesn't change is the joy that comes from nostalgic memories. I want to see what you bring to the table. Awards and trophies are cool but that doesn't tell me anything about you. I want to know how all the small details came together to achieve that moment. I bought a stuffed dinosaur I already owned for $100, and it was worth every penny. My three-year-old daughter has been inseparable from her beloved dinosaur (aka Dirty Dino 😂) since she was two months old. No replacement has ever fooled her. Last year I took my family on a vacation spanning multiple cities. As we began our 2nd leg of the journey, my daughter's puzzled expression caught my attention. 'Where's Dirty Dino?' she asked, her voice tinged with concern. A frantic and fruitless search through our belongings confirmed our fears – Dirty Dino wasn't with us! We must have left him in the taxi. My heart sank at the thought of her enduring the remainder of our vacation without her beloved Dino. By the time we were able to get ahold of our taxi driver, he was an hour away and we had 90 minutes before we had to leave town. Understandably, he needed an incentive to return. My solution? Offer him $100. It worked! Dirty Dino was reunited with our daughter just in the nick of time! This experience reshaped how I view value. Value isn't a simple cost + margin equation. It's a personal experience that's unique to each person. It's a blend of tangible benefits (like cost and time savings) and intangible ones (like joy and relief). Whenever I'm putting an offer together for prospective clients, I pause to consider the intangible factors they're looking for. ...It also taught me the value of stuffing valuables with AirTags. 😅

I simply cannot seem to continue reading my newspaper as I received a quite powerful email. It's as if the words on the page pale in comparison to the impact of the message that just landed in my inbox. This email has stirred something within me, prompting me to pause and reflect on its significance. It's amazing how a few carefully crafted sentences can capture attention and provoke deep thought. Now, instead of the newsprint, my mind is consumed with the ideas and emotions sparked by this unexpected communication. I just got a powerful message from a follower: "We need fresh blood🩸 in the interpreting industry. Dinosaurs 🦕 lol should be extinct by now." Let's dive into this with creativity and a touch of humor! 🚀✨ Dinosaurs 🦕 in our industry? Maybe not literally, but there's wisdom in their longevity. Yet, the call for fresh 🩸 is spot on! It's time to blend seasoned wisdom with new perspectives and tech-savvy approaches. Imagine a dynamic ecosystem where innovation thrives and traditions evolve. Dinosaurs will die. This year has been different in many ways to me as a leading part of Streaver. We have been adapting, improving and redefining our path forward. One of the key decisions has been to set our North Star Metric (NSM). To any business owner, I recommend to set it as early as possible. To us, it took almost 4 years to set, and 1 more to not forget we had it. Ups! 😅 Seriously, aside the time it took to set, our NSM, will for sure increase our alignment, focus, motivation, prioritization and decision-making in the upcoming years and save us from being a Dinosaur. "Dinosaurs will die" isn't just a metaphor — it's the title of my upcoming post (tomorrow will be ready, stay tight ?) ) reflecting on our 2023 at Streaver and how we envision our 2024 needs to be, full of uniqueness and innovation. Are you a dinosaur? 🦕    Many of you might not know about my fascination with dinosaurs and the fact that they still roam our world as birds. Despite harsh conditions, they have managed to evolve and adapt to survive through time.   That’s why it’s so funny that you call someone who resists change and is set in their ways a dinosaur, when it’s quite the opposite.     If we look at the business world, we’ve had a few years of crisis and we are not out of the woods yet. There is an urgent need to adapt, and it’s not only about thriving but surviving.     Take, for example, how Netflix adapted and pivoted from a DVD-by-mail rental service to a streaming service. Now they are a global brand that introduced the concept of binge-watching.     And let’s use Kodak as the cautionary tale of not reading the signs and adapting in time when there was a shift to digital cameras. The Kodak moment is no longer here.     With these disruptive times we live in, we are once again facing a big paradigm shift where we need to evolve and adapt to survive and thrive in this ever-changing, complex, and uncertain world we live in. Those who can unleash the full force of their organization, being bold and innovative, and continue to evolve and invest in change are the ones that put themselves ahead of the game.     So, I’m curious to know, are you a dinosaur?
