GenAI has the potential to be a disruptor in the ed tech space, but not without a well-established grounding in learning design --> read CommonGood's Evan Gutiérrez's most recent blog on how we're using a model of Collaborative AI to facilitate proven practices: "Using generative AI (or really any technology) to identify a small bug or teacher pain point and smash it doesn’t require much fluency with education theory or learning science. It presumes that when a product has been built to smash a bug, those involved will use the audience that they’ve built to find / smash bigger bugs. But it can be difficult to make the transition from peripheral to more core problems of practice. Today I received my academic transcript and 2 credits from the University of Helsinki for completing the Intermediate and Advanced tracks of their quite spectacular Building AI MOOC course. This is a fantastic example of how to create an immersive, inspiring, and intriguing, digital learning experience. I derived a huge amount of knowledge from it, and the peer review process at the end - measuring the validity of your capstone AI project - was a brilliant idea. Icing on the cake?
