Families are our most intimate social environment. They are where we start the vital processes of socializing our children, teaching them how to survive and thrive. Families provide warmth, love, and understanding, essential for emotional and psychological development. This emotional stability fosters self-confidence and resilience, preparing individuals to face life's challenges. Families also play a crucial role in shaping public and private conduct by transmitting morals, values, and ethics. A strong family unit makes society healthier, stronger, and more prosperous. So, take a moment to ask: Who is taking actions against the family? Why are certain laws being enacted or actions taken to weaken this foundational institution? It's time to protect and strengthen our families, and our children for a better future. #family #society

Have you ever heard of the kinship structure? For First Nations people, kinship is far more than a system of relationships – it's at the very core of culture and identity. Kinship defines social and spiritual responsibilities, and it's central to the way communities are structured. Kinship ties are complex and incredibly important to the overall fabric of community. It's important to consider how kinship structures not only provide psychological and emotional support, but also a sense of identity and community. Learning about kinship structures can help First Nations people feel connected to their history, traditions, and culture. Understanding and respecting the cultural context of First Nations communities is key to providing effective and appropriate responses to family violence. Participating in DV-alert’s First Nations Foundations workshop is one way you can help to end violence against First Nations women and children. #responsetraining #dvalert #respondertraining #elearning #genderedviolence #interventioniskey #domesticfamilyviolence

🌟 Unsolicited advice, input, opinions, and counsel are often seen as criticism. 🚫✋ Let's talk about it! I want to encourage a different approach—one focused on support. 🤝💙 If you believe your adult child may benefit from your advice, opinion, input, or counsel consider asking them this question, "What would feel supportive to you?" Everyone has different needs and preferences and your adult children are no different. Sometimes, simply being there to listen can make a world of difference. I'd love to hear your thoughts! What are your strategies for supporting your children without jumping into the unsolicited advice zone? ⬇️ #drjuliehanks #supportnotcriticism #adultchild #emptynesters #lds #latterdaysaints #TCOJCOLDS #mormon #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #parenting #parentingadvice #boundaries #boundariesarekind

Rather, it is to listen carefully to the essence of the question and approach your response accordingly." Dr. Lesley Litman discusses "The Questions of Today" in a new thought piece.
