#SAPP #Sodium_Acid_Pyrophosphate #CAS_number7758_16_9 Sodium acid pyrophosphate (SAPP), or #Disodium_Dihydrogen_Pyrophosphate, its #food_grade is commonly used with sodium bicarbonate as a #leavening_agent in #bakery_products. The European #food_additive_number for it is #E450(i). Generally, it is vegan and gluten free. It is used in food mainly for its two properties:   1. As a #leavening_acid which combines with baking soda to release carbon dioxide to improve the texture and volume of baked goods.   2.
