CEO @CCOF | Organic Agriculture | Wellness-Centered Leadership

CCOF recently partnered with CDFA to host an organic specialty crop trade mission to Mexico. Joined by 10 incredible California growers and winemakers, we traveled through Guadalajara and Mexico City to learn about market dynamics and shared goals with Mexico producers and government officials. Some key learnings and highlights: 🌱Mexico & the U.S. have the largest bilateral trade agreement in the world. 🌱The average age in Mexico is a young 29! Organic is an emerging market in Mexico, especially among young and health-conscious consumers. 🌱Purchasing power is anticipated to increase over the next 10 years with a growing middle class and increased nearshoring. 🌱While more focused on spirits, Mexico has a growing wine market and consumer base. 🌱Olive oil, apples, stone fruit, and almonds were all of high interest to potential buyers. 🌱SADER officials understand and support organic agriculture. They recently obtained equivalency with Canadian organic standards, and they continue to seek equivalency with U.S. organic standards. Looking forward to following up with CDFA and other trade groups to advance organic in Mexico and other international markets 🤝🏻
