At the top of this list is "Dream Big".
It reminds me of this amazing quote by Lawrence of Arabia...
"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible."
As the scriptures say in Proverbs 29:18, "Where there is no vision, the people perish"
So, dream big, lead with love, and create great, wonderful and good things.
Here's a simple pattern for mastering the art of "Dreaming Big"...
1. Set Ambitious Goals
>>Think Big: Start by setting goals that inspire and challenge you. Aim for what seems impossible to push your limits and expand your horizons.
>>Visualization: Visualize your success in vivid detail. Imagine the steps you’ll take and the feeling of achieving your goals.
2. Break Down Goals into Manageable Steps
>>SMART Goals: Ensure your goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
>>Milestones: Break your big goals into smaller, achievable milestones. This makes the process less overwhelming and provides a clear path forward.
3. Develop a Growth Mindset
>>Embrace Challenges: View challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. A growth mindset allows you to see failure as a learning experience.
>>Continuous Learning: Commit to lifelong learning and self-improvement. Stay curious and open to new knowledge.
4. Surround Yourself with Supportive People
>>Network: Build a network of mentors, peers, and supporters who encourage your ambitions and offer guidance.
>>Positive Environment: Create an environment that fosters creativity and ambition. Avoid negative influences that may deter you from your goals.
5. Stay Persistent and Resilient
>>Overcome Obstacles: Develop resilience to bounce back from setbacks. Use failures as learning opportunities.
>>Persistence: Stay focused and committed to your goals, even when progress is slow. Consistent effort over time leads to success.
6. Take Action and Embrace Risks
>>Proactive Steps: Take bold actions towards your goals. Don’t wait for perfect conditions; start now.
>>Calculated Risks: Be willing to step out of your comfort zone and take calculated risks. Innovation often requires venturing into the unknown.
7. Reflect and Adjust

>>Adapt and Adjust: Be flexible and willing to adjust your strategies based on your reflections and new information.
8. Celebrate Small Wins
>>Acknowledge Progress: Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Recognizing progress boosts motivation and reinforces positive behavior.
>>Stay Motivated: Use these celebrations as motivation to continue striving towards your larger goals.

Great leaders influence thinking instead of trying to control behavior. They learn why team members perform as they do in critical situations. Performance improves in direct proportion to your ability to influence their thinking. Poor performance is a product of flawed thinking and attitude. Great leaders influence two questions team members think about constantly. Can I succeed, and is there any value for me? How they answer these two questions determines their performance. Don't assume you know the answer. If you do not influence their thinking, you can be sure others will. If you are unhappy with someone's performance, find out what they think. If you have earned their trust and respect, they will tell you the truth.
