Payment Innovation Lead at Amazon

At Amazon, we are obsessed with finding ways to provide the best value for our customers and sellers. With new technologies changing the way payments and financial systems work, we’re determined to explore solutions that can help our customers transact more seamlessly and securely online, while creating new opportunities for our global sellers to scale. That’s the reason we’ve experimented with #programmable money - its potential to create efficiency gains in payments. Through various experiments with the Bank for International Settlements – BIS Innovation Hub and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), we’ve observed how programmability can facilitate both increased automation and increased innovation, including by eliminating manual processes and reconciliation as well as accelerating funds settlement. Take for example, our escrow payments pilots unveiled at last year’s #SingaporeFintechFestival (see pictures below!). Over time, if these systems scale and mature, businesses and customers could benefit from simpler and lower cost ways of doing business, expanding trade exponentially and benefitting the wider global economy. But there are still so many roads to build, and we are eager to partner with talents across industry and the public sector to make this happen! That’s why we decided to team up with Elevandi and our friends in the DeFi space, TRM Labs and Crypto.com, to set up a brand new skill-building program to inspire new talents who might be able to help us unlock the potential of the “Finternet”. This talent development programme for university and polytechnic students culminates in a graduation ceremony at the Talent Zone of Singapore FinTech Festival 2024. If you’re selected for this program, you’ll: ✅ Earn a certificate issued by TRM Labs ✅ Be mentored by industry veterans ✅ Attend exclusive industry networking sessions ✅ Gain industry insights through visits to Crypto.com and Amazon Only 30 applicants will be selected for this programme. Registration closes 19 July 2024 so sign up while you can! Get more details: https://lnkd.in/gdx9zyZX Yong Liang Mun | Amira Karim | Avishek Chandra | Angela Ang | Chin Tah Ang
