I've talked before about Rivian's design language helping carry the brand identity, but it's just insanely awesome to see them constantly take customer feedback into consideration and continuously work to improve the experience. As I dive into the finer details of this refresh, I can see why it's being marketed as "Gen 2" of the R1 electric vehicles! Things like: - Removing roughly 1.5 miles worth of cables in each vehicle by reengineering the electronic control units, going from 17 of them to just 7, reducing about 44 pounds of weight. - Redesigning the charge light bar with 10 new sectional LED lights for improved exterior visibility of your state of charge, also serving as additional hazard lights. - Refreshing the UI to keep things new, while using Epic's Unreal Engine to render all animations, and dual NVIDIA Orin processors for autonomy and image processing. Super excited about the new R1T and R1S, but also still very optimistic and looking forward to R2, R3, and beyond!

Last month, Volkswagen made a big splash when it announced plans to invest up to $5 billion in Rivian Automotive until 2026 as part of a venture to share #ElectricVehicle (EV) platforms and software. Rivian with a big pop on news. I expected a deal with Rivian as legacy auto has to be looking to make deals. I did not think it would be VW, I was expecting a domestic brand, but hey VW is a massive brand that is lost in the EV world and could really use Rivian as a life raft. Either way, the calculated gamble pays off. I really do like the style of Rivian. Quite a few of them in our local market. Cheers. Rivian produces 100,000 vehicles After two and a half years in production, the 100,000th Rivian has been made. Since then they've had some big ups and downs, but this is still an extremely impressive achievement. Sure, it's a long way off the 6 million number just posted by Tesla, but they've been at this almost 10 years longer. So, congrats RJ Scaringe and all at team Rivian!
