Architecture and Engineering, bring important things to the table, and makes the whole much more than the sum of its parts. Are you more of an Engineer or an Architect or are you both? How much time are you allowed to spend “thinking” rather than “doing”? If you were given the space to think more, would you be better at your job? How many Architects does it take to change a light bulb?

Architects can become better designers. By understanding the physicality of construction. The closer architects get to engineering, the better they will design. Taking time to break down the building science can clarify many theoretical concepts in architecture. I can't stress enough the value of engineering knowledge for architects. Architects should put some effort into learning basic engineering. Engineering is the backbone of architecture. Diving into complex math can save tons of time in the design process. And make architects better designers overall.

Along with A.I. as a tool, the infrastructure needed to support this (mainly data centers), requires mechanical and electrical engineering design expertise due to irregularly large electrical and heat loads.

Hijacking of the “Architect” title by other fields is a problem. People with 2 architecture degrees and years of experience can’t legally call themselves an “Architect” unless they’re licensed. Meanwhile other fields use the term like a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. It devalues and confuses the real architecture industry and profession. What’s the solution here?
