We know many of our neighbors in northwest Iowa have a long, hard road to recovery ahead following last weekend’s record flooding. That’s why Perdue Farms is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross relief efforts and delivering a truckload of chicken products — the equivalent of 33,000 meals — to the Food Bank of Siouxland, Inc. in Sioux City, who will ensure the resources will help our impacted associates and families, and our Iowa neighbors, in their recovery. This response is part of the company’s “Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors® disaster relief outreach focused on improving quality of life and building strong communities. My family was directly affected by the flooding. We live in Jefferson, SD. We are still dealing with the cleanup and construction at our house, but we are thankful to still have a home we can live in right now. I only had to live in our camper for a few weeks. I know of many people that do not have a home to return to as it is a total loss and it has been very devastating to their families. The Red Cross has been very helpful, along with our local communities. Thank you to all that have taken the time and efforts to help those in need. It will be a long road to recovery, but we will get through it.
