It's sad, a matter of fact, it's disappointing, a total embarrassment when military personnel; regardless of their Branch or ranks are displayed w/ a negative connotation. When I read about someone in the military uniform being detained or arrested; especially in another country, it's a total "DISGRACE", not only to our country, but to their uniform, and their loveones, but; it's more of a Dishonor, and Disrespect to the MILLIONS of military personnels who lives were lost during war after war after war; as though their deaths were in vain; yet, all many of us have to hold on to is etched as a memory- remembering their smiles, or hearing their laughter. Although Patton was not liked by many during his position as general, due to much of his abusive tactics of slapping soldiers in the head, knocking them down, and kicking them; when they said or did something stupid, he ran a very tight regiment that was strutured & disciplined; opposed to our current military force(s). Some have joined to actually "Protect & Defend", while others hide amongst the military running away from bench warrants, or gangs. Then of course we have these, like him in this photo who's morals and integrity clearly was left at home, or left on the plane while exiting. Either way, these types of military personnel join the military often times because of the hype they'd been told by older former military personnels that, the military is a fun place to be. Fortunately, it can be its all about what you make of it. Those days are gone, because now our military branches have been infiltrated by many young individuals who's never even left their little towns; let alone, their states in their entire live;, resulting in, cultural sheltering when it's time to take on a mature tasks such as PCS to another country. Yes, it's exciting to travel to another country when you're young, but so many of them simply loose their ever lasting minds and go buck wild. One would think that the'yd followed the story of what occurred involving the young college student who visited china and disregarded, and disrespected that country by, attempting to steal a hotel portrait (R.I.P.). It's apparent that he lacked morals and boundaries, and may have all his life behaved in this way feeling entitled of doing whatever he wanted to do; simply without any consequences or repercussions. Well, now he has another country disciplining and settting those boundaries for him. What's even worse is, when and if he's ever released from the Russian jail, he'll be chaptered out under UCMJ Article 15 followed by a dishonorable character of discharge. No-one narrated his story - niether did he have a co-author. He was the Author of his own story - this is now his reality.
