First off - Congrats on what is undoubtedly an exciting role, and congrats on your accomplishment. "OpenAI’s mission to build AGI to benefit all of humanity is perhaps the most important and transformative of them all." But I don't see how anyone who knows whats going on not just in OpenAI, but across the industry can say this with a straight-face. Altman is building an doomsday bunker "just for fun" (as you do), so his perspective of what "Transformative" means here is much less optimistic than the mission statement implies. But more important than billionaire antics, OpenAI is pushing the deceptive narrative that AI can replace people, "knows", "reasons", an is "intelligent" in any meaningful sense. This actively and demonstrably harms huge swathes of people while benefiting only the smallest sliver of folks in the world. Not to mention that GenAI is built on the backs of exploited labor in developing countries many of whom suffered long-last psychological harm as a result. But yes, please. Tell me more about how this mission is to benefit "all of humanity"

The concentration of power in AI concerns me. Microsoft is board on OpenAI, but also on MistralAI and InflectionAI, which they dismantled and no one could barely complain because well they mostly own the thing. Eric Schmidt, investor on Inflection also is leading investor on MistralAI among others. Reid Hoffman, board on Microsoft, former board of OpenAI, investor on Inflection. Didn’t complain either. Brett Taylor, board of OpenAI and Salesforce who is an investor in Anthropic and MistralAI. Now Amazon brings Andrew Ng to its board of directors, all good but Andrew is also partner at AI Fund, backed by Sequoia and SoftBank. Sequoia also lead investor at OpenAI. All these companies should be competing but their management is highly compromised on crossed interests, and this is where the future of technology is headed.
