".... The current system prioritizes broad experience over deep expertise, leading to strategic missteps. It calls for reforms to ensure that military leaders are better prepared for the complexities of modern warfare .... [and] strategy in today's rapidly evolving defense landscape. "Shock and Awe" is no longer an effective strategy - if it ever was a strategy, especially given the efficacy of insurgency and asymmetric warfare; and this is where the United States really lacks as China's proficiency with respect to asymmetric approaches and solutions has been in practice for several thousand years. Look at the amount of ordnance dumped on the Gaza Strip over the past 8+ months in the typical, Western, hyper-conventional fashion. And Hamas fights on to this day. The US desperately needs to employ more MOOTW and Unconventional Warfare (UW) strategies. We live in an extremely dynamic, asymmetric and irregular world with respect to the #battlespace and that asymmetricity and irregularity should be the foundation for extreme fluidity within an operational theater. During the war in Afghanistan Major Jim Gant (US Army Special Forces) embedded with the Pashtun - and like a modern day Lawrence of Arabia adopted elements of their strategy and tactics to conduct very successful operations against the enemy - in their own domain. The US is going to be at a loss if it has to face off with China at this point as the Chinese will employ a hybridization of IW and conventional warfare simultaneously. We saw in Iraq and Afghanistan (and now in Gaza Strip) that conventional warfare is being rendered more and more irrelevant by rapidly advancing asymmetric options - and technology.

Ancient Of Days Ambassador Of God! High Alert! Expose Evil! No one becomes a Soldier, Cutting Corners, Getting a free pass or Whining! The Military is not for the faint or weak at heart. You see that Heat on them? It's those who can take the Heat and what their Trainers teach them that Win the War!!!! It's for those courageous reasons all the military from the least to highest rank should be honored for their service! It's unfortunately the military recently has lost a few of their own with the Iran tragedy, as well as Israel, and Ukraine. I may not have gone to enlist in the military, but anyone crosses the line to attack US Soil. I would have no problem taking a hammer and nailing their head!!!! We don't know what these terrorist domestic or foreign will try next, but I know we do need to be preparing to protect ourselves from any attack on US Soil. 911 should be the one and only lesson that we needed to learn. Americans need to stop being so comfortable and complacent while the enemies in the corporations, WEF, WHO, UN, the Hiden Crime Family, and the demonrats plot their next scheme. In case this was to happen, or they attempt to do this, we should do this. It's time we begin to have a shift in our mindset to think that way more in a Proactive mode!!!!

The attached article is a 67th posting of an extension by the author of the leadership vignette series published by the Royal Military College Club then the Royal Military Colleges of Canada Alumni Association in the Club’s and Association’s “e-Veritas” publication from 21 August 2016 to 15 November 2021. The initial series and four preceding articles would ultimately consist of 195 articles and vignettes. The extension is made by permission of the current "e-Veritas" editor and compliments a reprise of the previously published and Linkedin posted "e-Veritas" leadership vignette series that, due to server issues, was reposted in PDF form on Linkedin starting at the end of 2021. The original series is again partially available at the Royal Military Colleges Alumni Association's website at the "e-Veritas" section in the reconstituted archive of issues section. The following leadership vignette examines the most ubiquitous military installation in the United States in the latter half of the 19th Century and through most of the 20th Century...the National Guard armory in towns and cities across the United States as a form of local leadership school. This community based establishment was the initial leader training ground for many significant leaders in both World War I and World War II that would later rise to very senior leadership in the Army.
