Education has a productivity problem. I believe many would agree that the best education is individualized one on one tutoring. But we have been stuck with a thirty to one ratio for over a century. All technology has done is provided complexity and replacement technology to the same process. AI has the potential to provide expert tutoring allowing each student to learn and master subjects at their own pace. Better results for students that can surge ahead and those that need extra time. AI can remove the administrative burden from educators too, allowing more of the personnel budget in school districts to go back towards student facing activities. The issue becomes changing from a block movement of an age group through a set curriculum requirement to individualized learning patterns for each student, run by an AI, but monitored and adjusted by an educator. AI will fail in education if it isn't used to increase productivity.

I'm much more interested on how we can pay our teachers more, but this is interesting too I suppose.
