🌿 Elevating Retail Experiences with Tuck Shop 🌿 As the Canadian Cannabis market matures the importance of educational sampling in B2B relationships has continued to flourish. The attached chart from a recent survey we conducted with 509 budtenders underscores the continuing impact that educational sampling can have on driving distribution and velocity. We found that an overwhelming majority of budtenders believe it's highly important to personally sample products before recommending them to customers. With an average importance rating of 8.4 out of 10, the message is clear—first-hand product experience is invaluable. Last year I wrote about sampling (which was by far my most engaged post ever, clearly it's evident that the community is deeply invested in understanding and enhancing the impact of sampling) and talked about 3 key tactics to get the most out of your programs: 1️⃣ Make it Easy and Compliant for a Retailer 2️⃣ Find Creative Ways to Stand Out 3️⃣ Have a Feedback Loop We recently partnered with Chris Marmion in their launch of the Tuck Shop Brand, and here are some insights we received: ➡️ Feedback Highlights:  ▶ 47% of stores expressed their desire to engage with Tuck Shop’s sales team. ▶29% of retailers told us they don’t currently stock Tuck Shop, but now plan too. ▶27% of stores that already listed Tuck Shop reinforced their decision to continue offering the product, in turn driving sales velocity. ▶The overall experience with the product received a high rating, averaging 4.13 out of 5, indicating strong satisfaction among retailers. Such a refreshing and transparent post from Bushbalm's founder about the double-edged sword meaning of selling out for founder-led businesses in the beauty/well-being industry, especially as we approach BFCM.   → From a customer's perspective, we tend to experience 'sell-out' as 'frustrating.' From a founder's viewpoint, this is, most of the time, a cautionary mark (especially on the first run), as overstock is more troublesome than a sell-out. While repetitive sell-outs are undeniably hyper-frustrating and not a sustainable way for growth, as customers, we can offer kindness and support to those founder-led businesses in the arena during these times.   😊 Finally, it is super refreshing to see that there is a significant segment of the beauty and well-being industry moving towards inclusion—not just from the perspective of 'diversity & inclusion' (though obviously extremely important), but also from a financial standpoint, i.e., 'high quality at an affordable price.' The market has clearly spoken, with brands like #BeautyPie leading the way (the brand recently sold out their LED Mask in 1 hour, at an RRP which is one-third of their competitors - a clear testament to the quality of their products and their extremely engaged Beauty 'OG' audience, hats down!).   ✅Well-being should be accessible to all, and it's great to see that the market/industry is listening.

Yes, it's true, and I only just heard this story while I was with him in the UK. Some of you Poms might remember my Dad's stores - Ciro Citterio. Every January, we used to run a Green Star offer. Anything with a Green Star was included in the Buy One Get One Free Offer. It was massive; my friends still talk about it to this day. We even made it into the papers and on the radio. Kind of like hearing Lionel on the Bing Lee ads. So, at dinner last week, the conversation turned to this. Dad said, 'You know, we were the first people in the UK to promote this way.' I was like, 'Really?' He said, 'Yes, it was 1983, we had about a dozen stores, and the operations director suggested clearing some stock with an offer: 'Buy any two products with a tag and get both at half price.' My Dad thought that was too complicated to understand and suggested, 'Buy One, Get One FREE.' Bang, just like that, everyone agreed, they did it, and it was a huge success. His only regret is that he didn't copyright the phrase; he might never have had to sell another suit again. LOL. I couldn't believe it when he told me the story, but it's true.
