Today we had the incredible honor of hosting Dr. Puranik and his beautiful daughter Vandana Puranik back to our campus. Our primary playground is named after the Puranik Family as they were instrumental in the reconstruction and re-surfacing of the play area back in 2018. We updated Dr.Puranik on the fact that over 200 children from our Preschool, After-care & Summer Camp Program and Family Foster Homes utilize this program every single day. After the Civil War ended, the enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, received word they were liberated by Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. This day was June 19th, 1865.
