Being a sports fan brings a sense of togetherness and belonging, and every fan deserves to feel welcome and valued. Accessible events and content mean that young fans with disabilities can join in the fun the same as everyone else 🔵 Representation Matters: Seeing characters, players, and mascots with disabilities in media can inspire and empower young fans – meaning they can see themselves reflected in the games they love 🟡 Community Strength: An inclusive fandom is a stronger fandom. Embracing diverse perspectives strengthens our community and creates a sense of belonging for all. However, they still face challenges: 🚫 Physical barriers at events 🚫 Inaccessible digital content 🚫 Social stigma and lack of awareness But we can make a difference! Here’s how: ✅ Ensure events are accessible. ✅ Create and support inclusive content. ✅ Invest in education to promote awareness and understanding #DisabilityAwareness #DisabilityInclusion #YouthFandom

As we celebrate the beauty of sports, let's also celebrate the profound impact of inclusion in creating diverse and welcoming environments. Inclusive sports environments offer more than just physical activity; they foster social skills, communication, and teamwork while instilling values of empathy, respect, and understanding among players, coaches, and spectators alike. Today, let's spotlight the importance of inclusion in sports for individuals with autism. Autism doesn't limit passion or talent; it's a unique trait that adds diversity and richness to our sporting communities. By fostering inclusive spaces, we create opportunities for individuals with autism to showcase their skills, build confidence, and form lasting connections. Let's embrace diverse abilities, encourage acceptance, and ensure that everyone has the chance to thrive in the sports they love. Together, we can break barriers, champion inclusivity, and create a world where every individual, regardless of their differences, feels welcomed and valued in the realm of sports. 🌟 #InclusiveSports #AutismInclusion #DiversityInSports #UnityInSports #SportsForAll #EmbraceDifferences

Today it’s a Global Accessibility Awareness Day 🧡. What is accessibility actually? I must say that before joining Gofore I didn’t know practically anything about it. If you’re an accessibility newbie, have and read this blog post!
"Accessibility is not just following the law and helping people with disabilities. It is a practical tool to ensure people are treated with equity, whether they are users of digital services, our customers, our employees, or the society around us." 🌟 Today is the Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). The purpose of GAAD is to encourage conversations, thoughts, and learning concerning digital access and inclusion as well as people with diverse disabilities. In celebration of this day, Elina Jokisuu with our accessibility team wrote a blog post explaining how accessibility and ethical digitalisation are connected and how we at Gofore, both in our services and in our culture, take accessibility into account. Our customers and experts are at the heart of our work as we strive to build a digital society that is equal to all. 🌍 Learn more in the blog post: https://hubs.ly/Q02xnkyD0 #GoforeCrew #GAAD #EthicalDigital

On the 13th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), we come together to emphasize the critical importance of digital access for the more than one billion people with disabilities worldwide. At LiveVoice, we're deeply committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all. While we've made strides, we acknowledge there's still room for improvement, and we're working hard to foster even greater inclusion with upcoming features. The official website of GAAD lists several points on how websites can be made more accessible, along with common pitfalls to avoid. Take this day as an opportunity to review your website and digital materials, ensuring that you're not inadvertently erecting barriers where there shouldn't be any. On this significant day, we proudly reaffirm our dedication to providing language accessibility and audio description services for the blind and visually impaired. Let's seize this moment to raise awareness and take meaningful action toward a more accessible digital world where everyone has equal access and opportunity. 💙 #GAAD #Accessibility #Inclusion #LiveVoice

To appreciate how important it is to make our digital world accessible, we first must understand how people with different disabilities use technology, interact with websites and apps, consume digital content, and more. NBCUniversal's Director of Digital #Accessibility Lori Samuels highlights our commitment to digital accessibility, why we celebrate #DisabilityPrideMonth, and how the Olympics and Paralympics viewing experience is becoming more accessible than ever: https://lnkd.in/g3zvmAa4 #IWorkForComcast #Paris2024

Did you know? According to Burke: Play That Moves You, inclusive spaces make everyone feel a sense of belonging and ownership. Age-appropriate play, intergenerational engagement, and spaces for socialization, adventure, awe, game play, development, and connection are all part of a well thought out play space design. Bennett's Village cannot wait to serve this community through play for all! [Image description: A light orange background with white letters at the top stating "Why and inclusive play space?" A white circle is in the center with the words "Intelligently designed spaces serve the entire community." in black letters. A circle of people have their hands raised to the center of the graphic and they are all smiling. Burke: Play That Moves You is cited in the bottom left corner.] #BennettsVillage #APlaceForAllToPlay #Play4All #ItTakesAVillage #InclusivePlayground #InclusivePlay #InclusivePlaySpace #PlayIsLearning #DesignForAll #BuildCommunity #PlaygroundFun #Accessibility #InclusionMatters #Inclusion #AllAbilities #LoweringBarriersToPlay #Charlottesville #CharlottesvilleVA #CvilleVA #BennettsVillagePlaySpace #AccessiblePlaySpaces #AllAbilitiesWelcome #ILoveCville #AlbemarleCounty

🌈 In the game Let’s play equal you can find wildcards. These are cards with facts that can affect everyone during the game. Take, for instance, this eye-opening example: "In the EU, only 50.6% of persons with disabilities are employed, compared to 74.8% of persons without disabilities. All people with a disability move one step back”. This statistic shows the persistent inequality faced by individuals with disabilities. Despite progress in promoting diversity and inclusion, there is still much work to be done to ensure equal opportunities for all. It is time for a change. At Let's play equal the mission is to create a more inclusive society. We're committed to breaking down barriers and making things fair for all. 🌏 Do you want to learn more about racism, diversity and inclusion? It’s time you start playing Lets play equal, the taboo-breaking board game which will teach you a lot and give you many eye-openers. Let's play it equal together! Learn more about Let's play equal?
