As a member of the the ASB Network (ASBN), King Arthur Baking is calling on Congress to prioritize regenerative agriculture in the upcoming Farm Bill. This vital legislation will shape the future of farming in the U.S., presenting a unique opportunity to support regenerative agriculture—a farming approach that benefits businesses, ranchers, farmers, and consumers alike. Why regenerative agriculture is essential: 🌱 Resilient Farms: Regenerative practices build healthier soil, increasing yields and lowering costs in the long run, making farms more resilient to extreme weather. 🌾 Happy Consumers: People are increasingly looking for high-quality, sustainably-produced foods. Businesses can meet this demand by supporting regenerative practices. 🌍 Healthier Planet: Regenerative agriculture helps fight climate change and protects our natural resources and ecosystems, ensuring a healthier planet for future generations. Let's show Congress that businesses and consumers support a Farm Bill that prioritizes regenerative agriculture. Join us in taking action!: https://lnkd.in/gHYgG5sK Together, we can build a thriving, just, and regenerative food system for all.

Yes, regenerative agriculture is important. Yes, it’s good that corporations are acknowledging this. Yes, it’s an essential step towards addressing climate change and fostering a healthy planet. It’s not enough. According to a recent study by FAIRR Initiative, there are highlights some critical areas for improvement: 1️⃣ Only 36% of the companies surveyed (which represent a third of the global food and retail sector) have established quantified, company-wide targets for regenerative agriculture. More companies need to set specific goals, and then measure and disclose their performance to hold themselves accountable for driving change. 2️⃣ Just 16% engage in meaningful discussions about metrics and data. Tracking and measuring progress are essential for meaningful impact. Currently, only four companies have established baselines for measuring their progress in regenerative agriculture. 3️⃣ A mere 8% of these companies have committed to financially supporting farmers in deploying regenerative practices, which is crucial to incentivize widespread adoption of sustainable agricultural methods. This data is a call to action. Our planet can no longer afford to simply acknowledge the importance of regenerative agriculture – these giants must take concrete steps to implement it effectively. It's past time for companies to set clear targets, invest in data-driven decision-making, and support our farmers in their quest to build a healthier and more sustainable food system. Quickly. #agriculture #climate #foodsystems #sustainability

Big Food’s “Regen Reality Check” Is Here ⬇️ FAIRR Initiative has released a new report examining regenerative agriculture commitments from publicly listed agri-food firms. The Good… ▶️ 50 / 79 companies worth USD 3 trillion mention regenerative agriculture initiatives in their disclosures. The Bad… ▶️ Only 36% (18/50) have quantified company-wide targets for regenerative agriculture. The Ugly… ▶️ Just 16% (8/50) discuss metrics and data, with only four companies having established baselines to measure progress. ▶️ Only 8% (4/50) have targets to financially support farmers to deploy regenerative practices. “Multinational food giants have filled endless press releases with talk of their commitment to regenerative agriculture, but with no agreed definition of the term it’s impossible to measure what progress they’re making or hold them to account for failing to keep their promises.” “Investors will want to see measurable targets that match companies’ stated ambitions on regenerative agriculture if they are to ensure they don’t fall foul of anti-greenwash regulations.” - Jeremy Coller Check out the report here: https://bit.ly/3Lz7jwa What does this mean for Outlaw Ventures’ thesis…? 1️⃣ The interest and commitments are there (cough cough 3 TRILLION DOLLARS worth of public market value is on the record) 2️⃣ They need help. Lots of help. (We can help them in lots of ways 🙃) 3️⃣ They can’t get all the way there “in-house” (We will help scale the best brands they need to buy to get the job all the way done) #regenerativeagriculture #regenerativefarming #cpg #regenbrands #food #beverage #sustainability #innovation #agriculture #ESG

The Future of Farming: Embracing Regenerative Agriculture for Sustainability and Profitability 🌿🌱 In the shadow of the industrial revolution, agriculture has been one of the sectors most transformed by technological and chemical advancements. However, the environmental and economic sustainability of these methods has increasingly come into question. As we navigate through these challenges, a promising solution emerges: regenerative agriculture. 🚜💡 Regenerative agriculture represents not just a return to the roots of farming but an evolution towards a more sustainable and economically viable future for the agricultural industry. By prioritizing soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem services, regenerative practices offer a holistic approach to food production that benefits the environment, farmers, and consumers alike. Key benefits of regenerative agriculture include: ✔ Enhanced Biodiversity: Diverse cropping systems support a wider range of species, improving resilience against pests and diseases. ✔ Improved Soil Health: Techniques like no-till farming preserve soil structure, increase water retention, and build organic matter. ✔ Natural Pest and Weed Management: Crop diversity and rotational grazing reduce reliance on synthetic herbicides and pesticides. ✔ Carbon Sequestration: Healthy soils have the incredible ability to capture and store carbon, offering a low-cost solution to climate change. Recent studies, such as those conducted by Professor Ratan Lal of Ohio State University, have highlighted the significant impact of regenerative practices on carbon sequestration. By increasing soil carbon content, we can not only improve soil health and productivity but also play a crucial role in mitigating climate change. As professionals in the agricultural and environmental sectors, we are at a pivotal moment. The adoption of regenerative agriculture offers a pathway to restore our lands, support small family farms, and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient food system. Let us embrace these practices, invest in the future of farming, and lead the way towards a more sustainable and prosperous world. 🌎💼 #RegenerativeAgriculture #SustainableFarming #ClimateAction #AgriculturalInnovation #FutureOfFarming #NetMindsWorld

Regenerative agriculture represents a transformative approach to food production, one that could redefine the future of food value chains. At its core, regenerative agriculture is about restoring and enhancing the health of the soil, which is the foundation for all terrestrial food production. By prioritizing soil health through practices like crop rotation, cover cropping, and reduced tillage, regenerative agriculture increases biodiversity, enriches soils, improves watersheds, and enhances ecosystem services. This not only boosts the resilience and productivity of crops but also sequesters carbon, addressing climate change at its agricultural roots. As such, regenerative agriculture has the potential to create a more sustainable and secure food system that can adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change. In the context of food value chains, regenerative agriculture can add significant value by ensuring long-term viability of agricultural lands and the communities that depend on them. It promotes a shift from extractive farming practices to a system that supports renewal and sustainability.
