Celebrate National Work from Home Day with King County DNRP! As we observe National Work from Home Day on June 27, 2024, we’re excited to highlight our transformative move, Green Where We Work (GWWW). Launched in June 2020, GWWW has empowered employees in designated telecommuting positions to predominantly telecommute, with on-site presence as needed to fulfill their roles and business requirements. This innovative approach not only enhances work-life balance but also significantly reduces employee fuel costs, saves public funds, and contributes to a greener planet by cutting down on carbon emissions. Nestle into your cozy workspace, extra time for wholesome meals, commute free mornings for a positive start. Check out the Working Conditions section in our job postings to discover hybrid roles and details about on-site reporting requirements. Guiding Successful Mid-Career Professionals to Develop a Path Forward| Leadership Coach| Career Accelerator| Assessments |Forbes Coaches Council Member| Photographer| Traveler
My beach pastime is eavesdropping on conversations around me. Yesterday, as several groups surrounding me were wrapping up their weekend and preparing to head home to the DC area, they were all discussing the same thing. Return to work mandates. I was tempted to corral them to facilitate a focus group. Instead, I pretended to sleep and listened. "I just hate the commute; it's pointless." "We have to go in two days a week. I have to reserve what days I go in; otherwise, I won't have a workspace." "I am always on the road; now I have to find one of our offices to drive to when I don't have a scheduled trip." "They gave us two weeks' notice to return to the office." "My team moved during the pandemic, and they live nowhere near an office. I'm probably going to lose them." "My team is global, and there is no one in the office I need to talk to." "We were told we would stay remote; then they changed their minds." What are you hearing? #hybridwork #returntooffice #commute #coaching #listening #work #hr

Traffic Traffic everywhere … I mean real actual traffic on the roads. The village in live in is currently subject to an increased flow of traffic as there are multiple road closures around the town causing diversions. It’s also causing chaos and having a knock on effect on things such as arriving to work on time, picking the kids up on time and reducing the work / life balance people like to have. Here are my top tips on things you can do to support your employees and just make their days a little easier … 1. Consider a flexi time approach. For those who cannot perform their roles from home, a different start / finish time for a short period of time would go a long way to helping reduce stress levels. 2. Consider a work from home option, full or part day so there is minimal impact to the daily operations. 3. Communicate your understanding of the situation and your trust that the job will still get done. Employers who have the approach of “well you better leave earlier in the mornings then” will be much less appreciated than those who create a positive response and great culture. #employeeexperience #toptips #hrconsultant

WFA (Work From Anywhere) is changing the game… It allows you to: ➡️ Continue your career while seeing the world ➡️ Meet like-minded people ➡️ Not wait for your annual leave / PTO to go somewhere hot ➡️ Create a flexible schedule that allows you to perform at your best ➡️ Explore other cultures The debate between WFH and the office is old. Especially when we consider the younger generation who are demanding more. I used to think it wasn't a thing until I went out, did it myself and then met hundreds of other talented professionals making it work too... Time we open up the conversation? 🤔 #futureofwork #onlineservicesbusiness #workfromanywhere

#Flexiblework arrangements are an important cornerstone of the modern #workplace, with an increasing number of professionals craving schedule adaptability and #remotework opportunities — and willing to make job changes and sacrifices to get it. A recent survey published by Bankrate revealed that 89% of the U.S. adult workforce supports a #fourdayworkweek, remote operations, or a blend of both. This isn’t a mere whim; 51% of respondents said that they are ready to transition between jobs or even industries to secure such #flexibility. Other key takeaways from the study include: 🗓️ 81% of full-time professionals endorse a four-day workweek. 💻 Flexibility in work seems to resonate more with women and the younger demographic (Gen Z and millennials). 🏠 Many are willing to make trade-offs for a condensed workweek or remote functionality. Diverse Workplaces are Flexible Workplaces Eliminate all that time spent commuting, hassling with after-school, Summer Break, sick day childcare, and dealing with office politics, and you just became a massively more attractive place for moms, let alone all women and other people who would benefit from the job being something other than 8-5 in one, singular, location for everyone, every day. Again, you broaden your labor pool, which broadens your diversity efforts. It's not rocket science. The more "rules" you have in place, like a full-time return to office policy, the more people will find it difficult to work for you, and the smaller pool of candidates you'll be choosing from. #Career #Diversity #LinkedIn #Politics #RemoteWork

Remote Work: One of the most significant driving forces behind the push for remote work is the changing generational demographics in the workforce. By offering the freedom to work from anywhere, the ability to better manage personal and professional responsibilities, financial challenges due to inflation, generally pay scales not aligned with inflation/cost of living, a reduction in commuting time and reduce stress. Remote work a viable option that should be offered based on the individuals professional and personal needs. #remotework #workfromhome #reducestaffturnover #wellness #worklifebalance #mentalhealth #costofliving #costofcommuting #time #choice #empowered #productivity
