Walking through defense trade shows and engaging in discussions in Washington D.C., I’ve come to realize we're at a pivotal moment. The brilliant minds behind the 20th century's monumental defense & aerospace inventions—the Space Shuttle, the Internet, and the early work in autonomy—are nearing retirement with no clear succession plan. I see this as a prime opportunity to elevate the defense sector, rebuild its industrial base, and address the toxic culture left from the consolidation era of the '90s. To paraphrase Y Combinator’s mantra, our primary responsibility will always be to build capabilities that our defense end users actually want. Yet, to achieve this, there are essential issues we must tackle: 1. Combat the entrenched wastefulness in government programs, driven mainly by the cost-plus contracting; 2. Build an ecosystem of partnerships that is inclusive, moving beyond the exploitation of subcontractors; 3. Bring high-quality talent, especially software engineers, into the same rooms as military members; 4. Reform procedures that prevent the use of modern software engineering in defense platforms. I am excited that we are building that future at Picogrid, together with several other upstarts pulling all-nighters in/around El Segundo (Neros Technologies, Hadrian, Rainmaker Technology Corporation, Rangeview...), and groups of engineers and military members obsessed about keeping a high bar on quality all across the country.

Becker rudder is highly efficient and responsive type ,it has many applications. I work on Pax Ro Ro vessels in British Columbia ,Canada for British Columbia Ferry Services. Spirit of Vancouver Island and Spirit of British Columbia are equipped with these types of rudders. Twin propellers with twin Becker rudders are very maneuverable for conventional type of vessels a specially during manoeuvring. This type of rudder can act as a stern thruster due to deflection of the flaps and can be used as one. In high advanced bridge controls the Master can use split options and uses one rudder as a stern thruster increasing substantially ships maneuvering ability. Did you know.....that EVs are actually LESS likely to catch on fire compared to traditional (or ICE) vehicles? Despite the noise in the media, various surveys concluded that EVs represent FAR LESS of the overall vehicle fires reported. Per BILLION MILES driven, there were 55 ICE vehicle fires compared to just 5 EV fires. And EVs exhibited 61 TIMES FEWER fires per 100,000 sales than ICE vehicles. All of that is backed up but the City of Phoenix Assistant Fire Chief Tim Kreis. It was awesome to learn about how proactive and forward thinking Tim’s team and the City of Phoenix has been with these new trends. Our UL100E unleaded aviation gasoline passed another milestone recently, logging over 350 hours of trouble-free operation in a Continental TSIO-550-K engine at the FAA Technical Center in Atlantic City New Jersey. The first 150 hours were run under full rich conditions and the last 200 hours logged 89 flight cycles. On the last flight cycle, the engine put out 304 HP under rated power conditions, within 2% of the 310 HP spec power output for the engine. The spark plugs were not cleaned or changed during the last 200 hours of operation. Engine oil was changed every 50 hours and showed no signs of dilution or abnormal viscosity increase. Preliminary engine inspection revealed no valve seat recession or other abnormal wear issues. More to come as we continue full scale testing in 9 more engines and 8 aircraft. Our test fuel specification will be balloted at the June ASTM Meeting. I will also provide an update on the testing program at the upcoming CRC Aviation Conference in Alexandria, VA on May 29th.
