Looking Back to History of MU | The MU Culture in My Eyes (Xiuyun Hu, the former Dep. Manager of Operation Division of MU Group) 💡 💡 💡 A company is a reflection of its culture, and the type of culture it has shapes the kind of company it becomes. It's been ten years since I left MU Group, but the #culture of her still deeply influences me to this day.   ⭐ Family Culture ⭐ My husband was involved in a severe car accident while I was at work, and his life hung in the balance. My colleagues at MU Group provided me with encouragement and support in various ways, offering both emotional and material comfort. What is a family? A family is a place that provides trust, security, and happiness, and MU Group is precisely that—a warm and caring extended family.   ⭐ ”Wolf Culture” ⭐ MU Group has advocated the "wolf spirit" from its early days, aiming to create an atmosphere of courage and #competitiveness. Here, as long as you combine "hard work + diligence + effort," you will have the opportunity to own your own company. For example, my colleagues like Sophia Zhang and Eric Zhuang, who joined the company together with me years ago, are now executives at MU Group, managing their own divisions.   ⭐ Open Culture ⭐ MU's email culture is unique. In the early days, all colleagues shared a single mailbox, which became an open forum where colleagues often shared various ideas and even criticisms of others. Looking back now, it was only in an environment of transparency and open culture like MU Group's that people dared to express themselves freely.   ⭐ Integrity Culture ⭐ The company has always emphasized "not taking a penny from suppliers," and publicly acknowledges those who voluntarily report gifts or favors. This is not only for the health and long-term development of the organization but also to protect everyone from straying down the wrong path and being swayed by short-term gains.   💜 💚 💛 MU Group is my family, my pride, and my guiding light. While I haven't walked forward with her, I have silently witnessed her growth. There are days where you learn something that changes your perspective of life forever ! For me it happened 10 years ago... 10 years ago I attended the 10th years anniversary of Vinci (I worked there before becoming a lawyer). During this event we saw a great video celebrating Vinci's employees and all great infrastructures they are building all over the world. This day I learnt that to be successful depends on the people your surround yourself with. For your personal and professional life! And that we build as been made by people coming together... We tend to forget that in our pace world. So when I launched Swapcard I dreamed to create a special place with great people. Our culture has never been set on stones but grew organically from our values, especially of being human and a desire to be the best. Recently someone leaving told me that our great culture comes from us the 3 co-founders because we are geniusly nice people. I tend to agree 🙈 toxic people will create toxic environment but great people don't always focus on creating great culture! I believe that any work culture is so important for your success, and even more important, to make your journey fun and memorable, no matter the outcome. The last 12 months some old Swapcardians left after 4-7 years to explore new horizons, I hope you will influence companies cultures bringing our values to other workplaces. As Daft punk said "We are human (not after) but before all"

Maybe, summarizing the journey from the fear of starting, discomfort, and low self-esteem when cornered in a difficult situation can help me recall a timeline where I really saw I grew to be "me" in the future. Taking a part as a program coordinator in this international scale project; ESTAFEST 2023 (Education, Sport & E-Sport Festival), I admit I felt a swirl of nerves and excitement. I imagined all the planning, organizing, and communicating that lay ahead to pull off such an international, multi-department event. But I hadn't anticipated the personal growth it would spur. Over the months of preparation—with a long sleepless nights & anxiety—I found myself expressing opinions confidently to large groups, becoming comfortable leading discussions and mediating different perspectives. Little by little, my shy, reserved self began to fade away. None of this would have been possible without the hard work and support of my amazing coworkers who rolled up their sleeves and dove into the challenges alongside me. Our team's success was the result of true collaboration. I'm also grateful to our sponsors—HeloTech Solutions Alor Setar, Laundry Cafe, AIU Cafetaria, and Kakak Adik Cafe Alor Setar—for helping bring our vision to life through their generous contributions, PPI AIU. While the path was difficult at times, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I'll cherish the lessons learned, the memories made, and the growth that came from taking on this challenge.
