“The cost of doing nothing is way too high”. Mentorship has had a significant impact on both my personal and professional life. I would like to thank Deloitte and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami for providing me strong mentors AND allowing me to give back by being a mentor. If you have a minute, this article summarizes my journey with mentorship along with what mentorship means to me.
Thank you Anthony Howard for sharing your story! As a Deloitte colleague and long time supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago I love seeing how mentoring continues to make a difference in our firm and people's lives.

I'm thrilled to share my incredible journey in the recent Deloitte India Graduate School Maverick competition, which consisted of five challenging and exhilarating rounds, out of which I cleared three! 🔹Round 1: Online Test Stage It was an online assessment which analyzed our level of knowledge in numbers, logics, intelligence quotient, language and domain knowledge in commerce . Out of numerous participants, I was among the 16 students who passed from our college, marking the first milestone in this adventure. The next step was team formation. We were formed into four teams, and I had the pleasure of teaming up with Reema S Jacob, ALDINA ANIL, and Tresa Sebastian. We proudly named ourselves NAVIGATORS, driven by our shared belief in our potential to excel in the forthcoming challenges. 🔹Round 2: Debate Challenge The topic given to us and our opponent team was "Importance of data security in an organization". Given the topic just 45 minutes before the debate, we chose to speak "for" the topic. The unity and collaborative spirit among us were remarkable as we gathered facts and crafted compelling arguments. Our presentation was met with great satisfaction from the judges. Two days later, we received the thrilling news that we were the only team from our college to advance to the next round. It was a proud and memorable moment for us. 🔹Round 3: Mentorship Stage (Non-Elimination) We were offered with two topics out of which we chose the topic "The Value of Diverse Thinking" and delved into the significance of cognitive diversity in enhancing employee performance. The mentorship from the judges provided us with valuable insights and suggestions, which further honed our presentation skills. 🔹Round 4: Location Level Presentation We presented our refined topic with full dedication and knowledge. Although we didn't make it to the final level, the experience was immensely rewarding, and we were proud of how far we had come. This journey has been a testament to the power of teamwork, resilience, and diverse thinking. I'm incredibly grateful for the experience and the opportunity to grow alongside such talented teammates! #DeloitteCompetition #TeamNAVIGATORS #DebateChallenge #Mentorship #CognitiveDiversity #TeamWork #ProudMoment #Growth #Resilience

EY Nordic MA Leader | EY Tech MBA | Leading with purpose | Product Manager | Hult international business school
Leading with Purpose Purpose is one of the most valuable soft and corporate skills anyone can possess. Aligning your personal purpose with your organization's purpose yields significant benefits. When you transform your dreams into purpose, it leads to impactful results in both your personal and professional life. For instance, I was able to complete 13 EY bronze badges and 4 silver badges because I had a purpose: to achieve the EY Tech MBA. Being purposeful was key to my success in this endeavor. Similarly, in our daily work, setting the right goals and being purposeful helps us achieve our north star, ultimately contributing to building a better working world. #purpose #ey #eybadges #buildingabetterworkingworld

Signing off for one last time from the place which has taught me life lessons!! After an enriching three-year journey at Deloitte, the time has come for me to bid farewell. From leading a small team to scaling up to manage a larger one, this experience has imparted invaluable lessons that will resonate with me for a lifetime. Allow me to share some of the key insights I've gleaned along the way. 1. Never fear the unknown- There will always be something that we need to learn and implement irrespective of the position we are in. The confidence of our team mirrors our own, and any wavering on our part can be reflected within the team dynamic .The unknown might be the easiest thing and the best way to get out of it is to face it and conquer it 2. There is no perfect approach to deal with people- Every person is unique in their own way. There is no one leadership style that will suite all the employees under you. You need to keep working to gain their trust. Trust is a two way stream. It takes a lot of time (even months or year) for people to trust especially a person they are reporting to and it can only happen by actions 3. Keep mentoring and backing people-Individuals won't always remain by your side indefinitely. Everyone has their own career aspirations and perspectives that may lead them to pursue opportunities elsewhere. However, it's crucial to continue mentoring, recognizing that people's paths may diverge. By consistently providing professional guidance, you ensure that individuals appreciate the impact you've had on their lives. 4. Always sign off on a good note-The final months of any job are critical. The effort and connections cultivated over the years must translate into a positive reputation among colleagues, subordinates, and superiors. A single mistake can irreparably damage this reputation. I believe to have made a positive impact and have earned few individuals who will always regard me as a mentor. Ending on a positive note wouldn't have been possible without the opportunities and mentorship I received throughout my journey. Sayonara Deloitte!!!!! You will be missed!! #impactthatmatters #Deloitte #signingoff #big4 #consulting #mentoring

Just returning back from Global Senior Manager Milestone training at Deloitte University - energized, humbled and impressed. I met amazing people from different EMEA countries, shared insights, and had some fun. Big "Thank you" goes to all my colleagues and our great facilitators Jenefer Morgan CA(SA) MBA and Jürgen Lademann for their insights, openess and mainly very honest Real Talk session. And special thanks goes to Martin Laws for a great and useful feedback on my unique value proposition. My key takeaways/thoughts to be reminded later on: 1. Perfect is enemy of good. 2. It is important to know what makes you stand out. 3. Do not start with a roadmap if you do not have a goal/objective in your mind. 4. Fishing for projects at the beginning of relationship is not helpful for anyone. 5. If you want to start start something new, you need to stop doing something else. Extra tip: Vitamin N 😊 meaning “say NO” #GSMM #DeloitteUniversity #learning #networking #metime #mydevelopment
