Seek advice but don’t worship it. Each person’s advice comes from a set of multiple highly specific experiences. Most of these experiences happened due to things that were out of their control and/or factors that are unrepeatable. It’s highly unlikely that what worked for someone might work for you. This is why founders should especially be cautious when seeking advice from peers/investors. Instead of focusing on their specifics, try to focus what were some general things that worked for me. Soon you may even see a pattern among their advice that’s repeatable. Work on that.

Advice is shaped by unique, specific experiences. Founders should focus on general principles rather than specifics, seeking patterns to guide them.

Kishore Ganji Elders give advice to the youngest "What has not worked for them in their lifetime" Instead they can give advice "what has worked for them" This is the true lesson that I learnt from my experience

Find the patterns, and if you really want to learn something - learn about their mindset, how they think.

That is also one of the reasons that mentoring and advice don't work if they provide advice based on their own experiences. Why something worked for me would be because of a lot of reasons like timing, skills, network etc. It might not be the same for everyone. Well articulated Kishore Ganji!

Totally agree...every situation is unique...but the expert experience and the quality questions from them, will help a lot more..it's not a one way expert advice, but solving for a problem together that matters the most, I feel !

👍🏻 Great advice! It's important to remember that while advice is valuable, it's not one-size-fits-all. Understanding the general principles behind successful strategies can help us adapt and apply them to our unique situations. Thanks for sharing!
