As the Councillor for Regenerative Agricultures and Ecology in the Cotswold District, I have been working towards a healthier farming world, economic sustainability for farmers, and better farming methods that respond to climate change, such as regenerative, biodynamic, and organic agricultures. These improve biodiversity and food. Good food is crucial. A fairer food system that delivers healthy food for the public is vital It's disheartening to see the global North's obesity problem and massive food waste while farmers struggle to survive and nature suffers. ⚡ A Milestone in Sustainable Insect Agriculture from Denmark! ENORM has just expanded. On December 6, the grand opening of its new production facilities took place. 🪰 The new plant has a production capacity of 100 tons of black soldier fly per day. Carsten Lind Pedersen co-founder and CEO of Enorm Biofactory, explains the transformative impact of his work: "We have a huge food waste problem in the world, and these insects we work with can make a difference by processing and reintegrating it into the food chain." The larvae of this insects are fed with by-products from daires or leftovers from beer production. Having eaten all the food waste, larvae are turn into meal. 🐔 This meal is then used for animal feed. This approach not only addresses the global problem of food waste. But it also presents an ecological alternative to traditional agricultural practices.
