If there’s one thing my college students know about me, it’s the fact that I despise spelling errors in our work as designers. There’s literally no excuse for spelling errors. Like I say to my Gen Z’ers, it’s not like I’m asking you to pull out a dictionary. Nor does spelling check cost money…it’s literally in every program we use. Yet, here we are. What are your best tips to avoid spelling errors?

Karen Loomis, if I wrote it or reviewed it closely, I have someone else proofread it. In that scenario, I'm more likely to see what it should say than what it actually says.

Spelling errors happen. So, my tips are to use spell check, read it out loud, and have somebody else read it. BTW, I’m a frequent user of the dictionary.
