Our Memphis Terminal began 20 years ago, and it carries a rich sense of heritage to this day. Josh (Dry Van Terminal Manager) got his start with Knight when he was just a high schooler — ultimately finding his way back to where it all started. He shares how many of the support staff here share a sense of togetherness that extends beyond the workplace, and this bond inspires their commitment to high performance. This camaraderie enhances their open collaboration with drivers, allowing them to navigate challenges and work towards goals effectively 🚚 #DriveKnight #KnightMemphis #Teamwork

People Developer | Talent Development | Sales Trainer & Coach | Keynote Speaker | President Castlebar Chamber | Lecturer p/t
I stayed in #Dublin last Thursday night, and after doing a few hours on the laptop Friday morning, I pulled back the curtains to snow 🙃 These unplanned snowflakes made me late. I couldn’t stop off to buy a book I wanted. There was no time to pop into my favourite cafe for a coffee or go back to buy that green scarf I regretted not buying for the St. Patrick's parade in #Castlebar. So, it got me thinking about our plans for learning and development. We set out our plans for the year, and by Q1, something happened, and we didn't do what we had planned. Before we know it, Q2 will be nearly over, and we will be into the summer holidays, and it's too late to start. The business suffers a small percentage, and someone says, “We will be better next year!” Sounds familiar? Don’t let another year or month go by without taking action and developing your team. If you are not up to date, you go out of date, which means out of business! #sales #training #talentdevelopment

Specialist Operations Change Management at Water Corporation - Winning team submission for AFR BOSS 2023 Best place to Work
Tony bravo. More CEOs need to do this. Yes I know finding the time is difficult but this investment in you and your staff is invaluable. Let’s see a few more CEOs taking up the challenge, make time to know your people and your business.
Gaining Understanding! When I was first appointed as the CEO of the City of Busselton back in December 2022, I was mindful that as an internal appointee (previously in the position of Director of Finance and Corporate Services), that I may have had some assumptions about what conditions, issues and situations other staff had in their work areas. I felt I needed to see for myself what our staff dealt with on a day-to-day basis, to fully understand any challenges and to witness first hand the fantastic work, commitment and passion that the staff have. What started off as an idea to work alongside my colleagues, has now turned into a monthly initiative, coined Take Tony to Work Day. Take Tony to Work Day has had four instalments to date and has been one of the most enjoyable, enlightening and useful programs I have been involved with. I would like to share my Take Tony to Work experiences with you across a few posts which will follow. #rollupthesleeves #diverseroles #localgovernment

"Why [Invest] in Chicago's Far South!" Tuesday's Edition: Local Business Community I believe we as a city need to have serious conversations regarding this city's business community. This is not about passing the blame again but recognizing our business environment in the city changed drastically post-COVID 19. Go to any number of communities from Rogers Park to Morgan Park to Garfield Park and the commonalities are the same with persistent vacant storefronts. There are various components as to the challenges facing commercial landlords/owners and business tenants, such as the lack of employee attraction and retention, workforce and skills development, depopulation, high cost of operations in supplies and labor, costly and untimely regulations and fees, public safety, online market, over saturation, inequitable incentive structure for certain types of businesses (small businesses vs large national business incentive structure), inaccessible financial resources to remodel or expand operations depending on your business location. It may be advantageous for the city to host four to six business forums this year led by local Chambers of Commerce and/or Community Development Corporations (Forums: Southside, Far Southside, Near Westside, Far Westside, Northside, and Downtown). We need to re-examine our approach before throwing money in a wet paper bag by funding the same programs that are outdated and no longer impactful in this post-COVID and slightly post-inflation economy. Chicago's far south side has experienced successes and disappointments. We celebrate the successes of Blue Cross Blue Shield in Morgan Park, Pullman Redevelopment and National Park, and Discover in Chatham. But we also are concerned and disappointed with the closing of the Chatham Cinema, KFC closings, and the decades of neglect along Halsted and Michigan Avenue. Even nonprofits are getting crushed with financial burdens of doing way more and receiving way less as the demands are far exceeding the supply. Nonprofits are the last defense before an under-served community completely submerge. Our city's business community successes cannot be judged by Downtown's success alone. We must learn and understand the challenges within each side of town. Commercial vacancy is a virus that does not permeate in only one area but spreads eventually to every area of the city and it must be stopped. This virus exploits the weaknesses in every area. We cannot ignore it, neglect it, or hope it will get better. Our actions must be intentional, inclusive, unbiased, data driven, and sufficiently funded. https://lnkd.in/gXjsFxPg
