Just a little motivation, some intentional reasoning, and a few people who truly understand can make a significant impact. You don’t need much to create meaningful change. Often, it's the small, consistent efforts combined with a clear purpose that drive progress. Surrounding yourself with a supportive community, even if it’s just a few individuals, can amplify your efforts and help you achieve your goals. The key is to stay focused, be intentional, and find those who share your vision.

Surround yourself with A Players; Flocks of a feather flock together; Go to Events, create and conduct physical events, Build Communities, Bring People together for a bigger cause, Write a book if you can centered around your areas of expertise, your ways of doing this, telling your story; Take steps to improve the Industry and take risks in your own name to achieve big goals; If People haven't heard of you yet; They surely will in the future.

We're wired to flourish within communities, not in isolation. Being genuine and true to ourselves paves the way for genuine connections. It's about understanding that not everyone seeks the same things as we do, and that's absolutely okay. When we bring our authentic selves to the table, we open doors to meaningful relationships. Sometimes, though, we might sense that the connection isn't reciprocated, and that's alright too. It's not a reflection on our worth; it's just the diversity of human needs and preferences. The key lies in doing our part - being real, sincere, and open - and leaving space for trust to blossom naturally. Adopting this mindset enables us to move through the ebb and flow of connections without taking it personally. So, let's continue being genuine, making our contributions, and trusting the process. Today is a double post day, because there’s an important side to my other post about community. I spent so much of my early career looking for validation. Really, I think I was looking for invitation. For inspiration. BELONGING. I remember years ago scrolling through LinkedIn wanting to add people to my network based on title - their (presumed) esteem. I thought it was the best way to grow in my career. Be noticed by important people. If you pay attention, all clubs intentionally position themselves this way. Exclusivity masked as inclusivity. I had this same framework in real life. I desperately wanted to be invited into the room, to the table, to the conference, to the meeting - to wherever important people were making important decisions and wanted my ideas. Eventually I “worked hard enough” to be at those tables, and I realized how much of myself I lost along the way and what more I’d have to negotiate with myself - to stay there. REFRAME I stopped chasing, and I started creating. Don’t waste your life waiting to be invited to a party when you can host your own. Those who seek belonging can actually create it. Depth, not breadth. It isn’t so much that you need to create a place for everybody. [This defeats the purpose of true belonging.] Create a space that allows you to express your truest self. The work that inspires you AND the manner in which you do it. Then tell that story! (i.e. content marketing) The WHO will become self-evident and self-curated when they see your WHY. 💜

If we want a community, we need to act like one. If we want help, we need to help each other. If we want support, we need to support each other. If we want to elevate, we need to elevate one another. If we want improvements, we need to improve each other. If we want influence, we need to create influence by working together. If we don’t want isolation, we need to come together. If we want to maximize ourselves as a community, we need to invest in the community and in each other. If we want a better life, we need to collaborate and not compete against one another. If we want community, not just identity, we need to act like one, not engage in empty talk. Let’s create impact and results, truly help each other, instead of lying to ourselves and ending up nowhere. Take action and stop the constant talking without doing anything.
