“UNSEEN” - This is a powerful trailer for a documentary that sheds light on an underserved community of caregivers. Parents of children with severe disabilities are often "just holding on" as they face day-to-day parenting challenges and exhausting, unrelenting caregiving tasks without the proper support or infrastructure of our healthcare system. Parents need consistent and accessible resources and support in order to take care of themselves and sustain care for their children at home. And we need to provide safe spaces (i.e., spaces without judgment or shame) for caregivers to tell us what they are going through and how, as a community, we can do better to support them. I am making arrangements to screen this documentary and will share important takeaways in a follow-up post.
