Utah leads the country in many areas, but ranks dead last in terms of women's equality. A Bolder Way Forward is an ambitious initiative now in its 2nd year that takes a systemic approach across a large network of leaders, agencies, non profits and impact teams to create a Utah where women and girls can thrive. I'm still reflecting on last week's summit that was jam packed with info, brainstorming solutions and lots of inspiration, but one low hanging fruit I've really been reflecting on is the need to simply increase the recognition of women as leaders in all facets life. I'm not talking about executives, but the leaders all around us. The woman who steps up to lead an effort, speaks out, or seeks to make a difference at her company or in her community. The teacher. The youth group volunteer. The mom who helps out at her kid's school or looks out for other people's kids. We are surrounded by examples of women leading every single day, and can be better at helping these women to see their leadership talents. Next time you see a woman leading, tell her "thank you for your leadership" #bwf #bolderwayforward Jennifer Smith Trina Eyring Susan R. Madsen
This is a fantastic reflection. 100% agree.
Utah leads in many areas precisely because of the women in the state who are deeply involved in all sides of the community and all sides of various social issues. Thanks Kristiane Koontz for sharing this. #bwf
