Excerpts: As the massive changeover to zero-emissions vehicles continues, a range of possible trucking solutions have rumbled into view – from electric battery swap-and-go storage facilities on well-travelled routes to ever faster and more efficient electric battery charging systems. With a geographically huge expanse of territory and a relatively small population, Australia has an unusually high dependence on long-distance trucking, says Grattan Institute energy and climate change program director Tony Wood. As ideas proliferate and technology develops, he expects the decarbonisation winners and losers in the trucking sector will emerge over time. A new small truck series powered by #hydrogen is expected to hit European roads next year. 🚚 MAN Truck & Bus SE, one of the leading international providers of commercial vehicles, announced that a series of 200 units will be delivered in 2025 in Europe and beyond. The “MAN hTGX,” which offers a range of up to 600 km as well as refueling times of less than 15 mn⏱️, can be used for various applications — from construction work to timber transport. As the manufacturer notes, such a #zeroemission vehicle is a perfect complement to EVs, offering an alternative where there’s no sufficient charging infrastructure.
