Are you ready to break free from the chains of codependence and imposter syndrome? It’s time to embrace your authentic power and thrive! Codependence is a mindset of victimization where the codependent relies on the attention of others to define their identity. Because they have abandoned their own sense of self, they easily fall prey to the lies of imposter syndrome. But there is a way out of this trap. Liberation from codependence and imposter syndrome occurs when you shift your focus back on your own talents, skills, abilities, and passions. These are the components of your authentic power. I grew up in a home where my father told me that “children are blank slates for their parents to write on.” I struggled for years to give up my father’s “writing” in my mind and embrace my authentic power. As I have liberated myself, I now find myself enjoying life from a place of authentic power. It is worth the effort! You, too, can liberate yourself from the lies of imposter syndrome. Here are 3 ways to tap into your authentic power. Technique #1: Watch your thoughts. · Notice when you are thinking about how to please others, and making their needs more important than your own. · Build a new arsenal of thoughts focused on your strengths and accomplishments. Practice these thoughts daily. Technique #2: Practice Self-Compassion · Noticing your negative thoughts is cause for celebration! You can’t change what you are not aware of. · Practice speaking to yourself with the same compassion you would use for a cherished friend or relative. Technique #3: Maintain Healthy Boundaries · Protect yourself from the negativity of others. · Educate yourself on maintaining healthy boundaries. What steps have you taken to defeat imposter syndrome and embrace your authentic power? Please let me know in the comments below! #impostersyndrome #self-actualization

"Imposter Syndrome" is garbage. The feelings we associate with it may be real, but the label is terrible. People who tell me they have "Imposter Syndrome" aren't imposters. They aren't trying to deceive anyone or steal money. They are usually people who have been promoted, or working in a new industry or role. And they are LEARNING. Or maybe they are in a company or culture that doesn't embrace or welcome their differences. So if you're one of those people who feels like you have "Imposter Syndrome" get curious, and ask yourself what that's *really* about. Are you lying to other people with an intention to deceive them? Or are you growing? Call your feelings what they are - and lose the label of "Imposter Syndrome." *And if you need more convincing, get in touch. I've got a fun new workshop where I share all the reasons we need to bury the idea of "Imposter Syndrome" - and how we can manage and conquer the normal feelings of self-doubt that so many of us feel. #ImposterSyndrome #workshop #learning #development

No one should have an imposter syndrome. Do you agree? We should instead, shift our mindset and reframe it as "pretender syndrome." Aspiring to be a better, more senior developer or excelling in any profession requires effort and perseverance. As an entrepreneur and a developer, pretending to be the best version of oneself drives us to be more authentic and reach our potential. Feeling like an imposter can be discouraging, but pretending to be good through effort and hard work can lead to genuinely becoming good. Let's embrace the power of pretending and use it to our advantage. Have you ever experienced "pretender syndrome"? In the spirit of helping you overcome imposter syndrome, I want you to remember this post. Whenever you feel uncertain, remind yourself that you have done, can do, and will do a better job than I have here. I mean, can't you see my code 😭? If that doesn't help, recall that this feeling of inadequacy that: - Makes you feel inferior to your peers - Leaves you feeling like a small pin in a vast haystack of wool - Makes you feel like a spy in a foreign, intelligent, and brutal country - Makes you feel like a ghost visible to light is just a mental barrier surrounding you, like the slashes around this text. Pick yourself up, and let this post be the rope that pulls you over the wall to a brighter perspective. If the wall is one-sided, remember you can walk around it. If it surrounds you, look up and see this post. Just like this type does. You are not the imposter; the fear is! #softwareengineering #impostersyndrome #motivation

🕵️♀️Your are an imposter! I think everyone experiences imposter syndrome at some point. I believe it’s actually healthy. ☑️First of all; it’s imposter syndrome that encourages us to check we are performing at the best of our abilities. We are all imposters because we’ve never done this before. Whether you are a teacher, a trainer, a student or running a business nobody with your name and face ever did this. That’s ok. ☄️Hold onto that imposter feeling and redefine as; trail blazer syndrome. Because what ever field you are performing in, you are redefining it in your own way. #anxiety #mentalhealthawareness #impostersyndrome #selfconfidence #thestillmethod

“CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SUCCESS!” Have you ever heard those words and cringed because they felt fake or phony? Do you ever try to downplay a “win” or hesitate to talk about something that is going well because you feel like a fraud? If so, you might be experiencing Imposter Syndrome. What is it? It is a psychological response in which people believe that they are not intelligent, capable, or deserving of their success. People dealing with this can be very successful externally, but internally remain convinced that they don’t deserve it. What can you do? 1. Receive honesty from a trusted friend - One of the things that can help is to have someone who can tell you the true reality, not what you need to hear. Someone who can challenge your negative thoughts and help you to see yourself more realistically. 2. Remember, you're not alone - Imposter syndrome is a real and common experience, but it doesn't have to hold you back. By understanding what it is and what you can do to overcome it, you can take steps to boost your confidence and achieve your full potential. 3. Remember the facts, not just how you feel - With tools like positive self talk and listening to uplifting resources you can re-train your mind to think about things differently. Remember that your thoughts don’t choose you… YOU get to choose YOUR THOUGHTS! Do you have any experiences with imposter syndrome? What is Imposter Syndrome? It's that sneaky feeling that you're not as competent as others perceive you to be, despite evidence of your accomplishments. But here's the thing: it's all in your head! Here are some tips to overcome it: Own Your Achievements: Recognize your successes and give yourself credit where it's due. You've worked hard to get where you are! Change Your Inner Dialogue: Challenge those negative thoughts and replace them with positive affirmations. You are capable, and you deserve your achievements! Embrace Imperfection: Understand that nobody is perfect, and it's okay to make mistakes along the way. It's all part of the learning process.
