Very happy to share insights from a recent project I was part of in Culver City, California, alongside the incredibly skilled Michael Walle, PLS, from Denn Engineers. We worked on a project that not only challenged the conventional norms of surveying but also openly embraced the future, thanks to NavVis VLX. (How else would you capture 3000 linear feet (400k sq ft!) in less than 2 hours with comprehensive coverage, without compromising on accuracy?)    Old vs. new: Traditionally, surveying dense urban areas like this stretch of Culver Blvd and Lincoln Ave meant contending with limited line-of-sight and manual measurements of every street detail - a time-consuming task fraught with potential for error. Enter NavVis VLX technology, and the game changed. We were able to capture comprehensive data with minimal setups, drastically reducing on-site time and human error, ensuring nothing was missed.   A glimpse into the future: The project showcased the stark contrast between the tedious traditional methods and the efficiency and accuracy of modern surveying technologies. Captured with NavVis VLX, we efficiently processed the entire site's data through NavVis IVION Processing, ensuring a complete and accurate dataset ready for feature extraction and linework.     The impact: This project is a testament to the power of technological innovation in the surveying field. By adopting NavVis VLX, we significantly improved our workflow's efficiency and accuracy, setting a new standard for future projects.
