A: For deeper insights, gather it through people. >> Good ‘ol fashioned intel from research and informational interviews with the hiring team and those who work(ed) at the company you're targeting << Q: Now, what do I do/see/feel that’s in alignment with that? A: This is where your Unique Value comes in. >> Present the most relevant information that connects the dots on why your wins are significant for this particular company << ______________________________ This approach is different. The best recruiters know how & when to engage with passive candidates. Of the two software engineers we placed last week, we originally spoke to them in September 2023 and January 2024. The key here is not spamming them with every job that comes your way, losing your trust and credibility with the candidate. You have to figure out their pain points and motives. Chances are they're in a decent spot, so why do they have a foot out the door? Then, you have to be completely objective about the roles & clients you have. I recently told a software engineering candidate that we should hold off scheduling the final interview. We were making an offer to a candidate and we had a backup candidate. Preparing for an interview and executing it takes a lot of work. I wanted to make sure I was valuing his time and being transparent. He was so thankful even after receiving not so good news. "Thanks for the transparency." "It's rare to get that from recruiters, and I appreciate it."  No matter what you do in life, provide a good service.
