Record-level attendance in the regular season of 22.56 million, with games on average played to 97% venue capacity. Another league record for annual revenue of $6.2 billion, boosted by that attendance total, as well as gains in media and sponsorship. What had been looking like a drama-free wipeout of a series culminated in a Game 7. The MLB season has 3 unique aspects… 1) A lot of ticket inventory 2) They play in the summer when people like to travel 3) Ballparks are landmarks people want to see So, what if teams nearby teamed up to sell tourist packages? Think of the NY market, you could include Yankees + Mets + Phillies Or Cubs + White Sox + Brewers Or Dodgers + Angels + Padres The package would include: Tickets + travel + hotel This idea doesn’t work for every market, it’d take schedule alignment and team coordination, but… maybe there’s an underserved baseball tourist market that can be taken advantage of through collective marketing and operations.  . . .
