Another one of the projects I’ve worked on this semester! 🎮🐸 I had the privilege to collaborate with an amazing team, Maya Aldowayan and Tala Solimanie, on a 2D pixel platform game called Leap Home. Using Unity, we created the code, designed the map, and crafted an immersive experience that might just make you rage quit (but in a fun way, we promise!). Game modes can feel like an obtuse extra layer of settings but they can be quite useful and easy to work with once you understand their role in a project. Lately, I've been losing myself a bit in creating these nature scenes in Unreal Engine 5. It's such a powerful tool; it really makes you wonder how games will look in a few years. Ambience sound effects are mostly placed procedurally based on the state of weather and data from foliage around the player. For example, when the wind increases, animals like birds will chirp less frequently or disappear completely, and when there are not so many trees around the player insects will spawn more. With games becoming bigger and more complex, procedural audio systems could be a great solution for maintaining flexibility without compromising on audio fidelity. #unrealengine5 #procedural #gameaudio
