To understand more about the role of technology in sports, we conducted a global survey of 12,000 sports fans across 11 countries, as well as in-depth interviews with professional sportspeople and industry experts. Our analysis found that fans increasingly use technology to enhance their viewing experience both inside and outside the venue. The benefits of technology are extensive and span fan engagement, news and insights, experience enhancement, and new immersive and digital experiences. As technology continues to enhance the viewing experience, fans indicate that they will even prefer to consume sports at home or outside of the venue, marking a real change in attitudes towards sports consumption. On the professional end, technology is transforming the player experience with new tools and systems to improve training and performance, and to prevent injuries An interesting survey which could be inspiring for the art world

Founder & CEO at NTP-Tickets | Innovation Consultant in Sports | Web3 & Emerging Tech | Expert in Product Management & Business Growth | Marketing & Media Specialist | Passionate about Tech, Insights & Storytelling
When people ask me why I love technology in sports, I could simply share this video – it says it all! Innovation is great when it benefits everyone involved: athletes, spectators, media, sponsors, in short, all the stakeholders. Or, in a more comprehensive language, the ecosystem. This incredible advancement in how we follow sports is brought to us by the team at Rezzil through their still-in-development product called exil.live I foresee a near future where audiences will purchase tickets even to watch events from home, as new forms of access to sports and entertainment are also undergoing transformation. NTP-Tickets is also a part of this transformation where digitally native tickets provide a sense of belonging, memory, storytelling, and intrinsic value linked to the emotions generated.

Futurous, embracing the revolutions in sport In today's fast-paced world, where technology shapes every aspect of our lives, the realm of sports is not immune to its transformative effects. I remember Prof. Loret's analysis on the changes sweeping through the sports landscape. *Sport 1.0 (“Olympic sports”, based on performance) *Sport 2.0 (“Freedom sports”, based on fun and sensations) *Sport 3.0 (technosports) This delineation of three pivotal periods provides us with a roadmap to understand the cultural, technological, and behavioural shifts that have shaped our athletic pursuits. From the classical Olympic disciplines to the rise of alternative action sports, and now to the advent of cybersports and digital innovations, each phase brought new opportunities and challenges. This is at the core of our work at Futurous, using the convening power of sport and competition to address innovation in technology, sociology and ethics. Yes, technology is not the only driver of innovation: we need to recognize culture as a driving force behind sporting trends. Yes, cultural shifts, rather than merely technological advancements, have propelled the rise of alternative sports like surfing and skateboarding. Yes, the organisations, brands AND TERRITORIES which fail to grasp these cultural undercurrents will find themselves outpaced and outmoded. We forecast a future where digital technologies revolutionize the way we experience sports. With virtual reality, augmented reality, and wearables becoming ubiquitous, the boundaries between physical and digital realms blur, offering athletes and fans alike unparalleled experiences. However, this digital renaissance comes with its own set of challenges, from accessibility and affordability to ethical and regulatory considerations. We are still few to issue a rallying cry to stakeholders across the sports industry. It's no longer sufficient to rest on past laurels or cling to outdated paradigms, there's an urgent need to embrace the digital revolution, to innovate boldly, and to adapt swiftly. For brands, organizations and governments involved in sport, the imperative is clear: anticipate or be left behind. The stakes are high, as the specter of uberisation looms large, threatening to upend traditional power structures and institutions. Yet, within this disruption lies the opportunity to redefine sports for the digital age, to democratize access, and to foster inclusivity and diversity. As we stand at the precipice of this new era in sports, let us make a leap of Faith to embrace the possibilities of Sport 3.0, not as a distant future, but as a present reality waiting to be realized. Let us shape a future where sports transcend boundaries, where innovation knows no limits and where the spirit of competition thrives in the digital arena. #sport #innovation #technology #changemanagement #ethics #Education #university
