Research shows that younger companies have more diverse boards. Additionally, in comparison to older firms, younger firms have a higher percentage of women directors. They're also less likely to have a male-only board than firms founded before 2016. According to Crunchbase News, this disparity can be attributed to the fact that younger companies are more likely to have women investors on their boards. Statistically, 17% of investor director seats are led by women. On the other hand, for older companies, the same roles account for only 10% of their boards.
