Indian Society for Clinical Research - The Ultimate Homecoming party of Clinical Operations Professionals
Indian Society for Clinical Research (https://lnkd.in/g84akVdq) has proven itself as the ultimate homecoming party of clinical operations professional from India and across the world. When you hear your co-passenger bubble with the enthusiasm of a child to the prospect of meeting his own, some known, many unknown you truly feel that you are mixing with a truly unique community. Medical institutions, Research bodies, Pharma research companies, CRO's, and Technology solution providers are represented by their best in the business, with many who have spent decades and have nurtured the growth of clinical research in India.
A May 2023 PWC - USAIC paper on clinical trial opportunities in India lays down the facts around clinical trials in India and also calls out the potential. While India's contribution to global clinical trials has averaged about 4% per year from 2010 - 2022 and trial participation at 3% , the fact that the Top 20 pharma sponsored trials in India has increased by 10% since 2013 stands out like a bright star. This has largely followed multiple regulatory reforms. Given this positive backdrop and the gradual recovery from the events of 2020, ISCR '24 had a positive feel about it. The pre-conference workshops rightfully focused on the New Drugs and Clinical trial rules of 2019, the power of collaboration from protocol to reporting, real world evidence and crucially, sponsor oversight to meet regulatory expectations. There were interesting and insightful poster presentations on display at the venue (Selected posters). Main conference tracks spread over two days provided an exceptional opportunity to clinical operations professionals, academia and students to listen and interact with fellow professionals and gain valuable insights.
From being a watcher of the clinical operations space to now becoming a part of this, I have been embraced well by this well-knit family. It was fascinating to listen in to professionals from Quintiles (previous avatar of IQVIA India) when it started off in India in 1997, and those who worked with customers over the next two decades across multiple launches supporting global trials & trials in India. I wouldn’t be wrong if I estimated that three out of five professionals with whom I connected had an IQVIA India / Quintiles stopover in their journey. Much respects to all of them who have enriched the Industry with all their contributions. Our newest initiative of a quiz during stall interactions made things even more memorable. Fabulously organized by Raina Singh and led by the celebrated IQVIA Clinical operations team of Shweta Pradhan, Bhairavi Bhinde, M. Sc., PMP, Sneha GuptaCapt. Smitha Naidu, Kavitha Gurram, Govind MK, Nishant Naniah, Dipta Chaudhury Khorana, Anand Rishi, Jinu Jose, Arohee Ketkar, Ph.D, Prasad Shetty, Debjit Chakrabarti, Dr. Ankit Darji, PhD, Sarang Vinze, Sachin Sadekar.

This Monday, we have a question for #Pharma and #Biotech working in #MultipleSclerosis Research . Is it possible for you to engage with more patients living with MS to further understand their journeys, experiences, challenges, needs and what really matters? #behindpatienteyes
Medical experts have recently told us that more research into MS patients and their patient / caregiver journeys would be beneficial in identifying challenges, unmet needs, and ways to support patients and their caregivers better.
#BigData can give new insights. There are plenty of patients globally that will want to share their voice and be seen.
It is estimated that over 1.8 million people are living with MS worldwide. Advances in medical research mean that people with MS have more options, however there is still a lack of treatment options for progressive types of MS, and not everyone globally has access to all options.
The experiences of patients, and opportunities, will differ in different healthcare systems.
If you would like us to help you to connect with MS experts that would like to explore MS patient journeys further, please contact us.

In #clinicaltrials, the current lack of #diversity equates to producing drugs that serve too narrow of the population and increase the risk of adverse effects to those omitted populations. A Lack of diversity in clinical trials is a significant problem that stems from systemic obstacles, but this can be overcome.
Utilizing new methods and technologies is essential to help remove barriers to greater diversity in clinical trials.
Team Jeeva Informatics Solutions Inc. is working hard with doctors, sponsors, clinicians, and CROs to create greater awareness and advanced technology to overcome the barriers to diversity in clinical trials.

Are the #clinicaltrials in today's modern era highly anticipated for patients & researchers?
The answer could vary depending on resource availability and the ability to adopt these technology trends as a priority.
Executing complex clinical trials within designated timelines is crucial, but budget constraints often cause unforeseen delays.
While patient recruitment has been a significant bottleneck in clinical trials, innovators like Jeeva Clinical Trials Inc. implicitly try new trends to achieve positive patient recruitment and retention, which can be a trend for the coming years.
