"Nuance" is the newest high form of excuse-making. Whether you like it or not, whether you accept it or not, the axioms that exist for changing your behaviors and your life are very much the same for every person. Step One: Figure out where you are. Step Two: Figure out where you want to go. Step Three: Figure out what obstacles are in your way. Step Four: Overcome those obstacles through repeated actions over a long enough timeline. Step Five: Do that over and over again until you get there. Yes, this works for trauma, weight loss, addiction, being a business owner, making more sales, having great sex, becoming a lion tamer— you name it. Intellectually complicating a thing to make it easier for you to tolerate not doing it does not make it complicated.
