Exciting to see LLM products adopting online monitoring & A/B testing frameworks into their toolkit. Do folks have recommendations for best practices for LLM production monitoring & observability?

Just because LLMs are a black box doesn't mean our applications should be. Understanding what's going on under the hood is imperative to a production grade RAG application. You can use langsmith to monitor your workflows to track cost in time and tokens among other awesome features.

Turned out that not everyone is aware of our progress at AAL VC:) We’ve closed 9 deals🔥 this year so far with #10 coming in soon. That's 1.5x more than what we initially planned for the first year. We found ourselves in the same boat with such investors as Khosla Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Nat Friedman, Elad Gil, Gradient Ventures, Nvidia, Thomson Reuters, Foundation Capital, Dig Ventures, angels from Huggingface, Matilion, Datadog, Stripe, Microsoft, Intercom and many more. All our latest deals were highly competitive and the allocation was scarce. So we’ve been learning a new skill of squeezing into crowded rounds=) What's the secret? AAL VC community that provides us with a flow of unique opportunities and helps us secure allocations in hot deals. Whether you are aware of it or not, financial markets define and have deep implications in everyone’s personal life. The fact that only 6% of the global population is represented in them is very hard to reconcile with the concept of “democracy” in my opinion. That is not only a core foundational problem for a sophisticated society - the cost of opportunity of letting a minority decide is huge: markets in their current form are not completely “free”, and neither they are “efficient”. But most importantly they do not clearly reflect and promote a version of the world that everyone wants to see. That is what financial markets should actually be: a platform to elevate companies making positive contributions to our commonly desired future, rewarding those who invest in the realization of their vision - a virtuous cycle that benefits all of humanity directly or indirectly. Cleary, humanity has not been able to find that balance by itself so far, but for the first time in history there is a technology that, in my opinion, is the best shot we have at moving the world in that direction: AI. I am personally very enthusiastic about the deep changes AI will bring into the world, in the case of financial markets, it holds an unprecedented opportunity to make them more accessible, accountable, transparent, predictable, and aligned with the version of the world everyone wants to see. I am happy to share that TipRanks has been acquired by Prytek, a long-time strategic investor and partner of ours.   I feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of this special 12-year journey and to have witnessed firsthand a dream come true. I am grateful for everything we have accomplished over the years—from disrupting the retail investing space and improving the lives of millions of users, to creating jobs for hundreds of families.   I am especially grateful for the people I have met along the way. To our early-stage investors, who believed in me when I was a nobody with a presentation full of dreams, and who have since become close friends and mentors; to Gilad Gat, my co-founder, who had the option to pursue anything he wanted but chose to take a bet on me; to our truly devoted and amazing team, the most loyal, hardworking, and kind people I have ever met—and likely will ever meet; and to the long list of partners who opened their doors to a small startup from Israel, giving us a chance to grow with them. I can remember telling myself many times, “If we ever do an exit, I will write a special post about how this person went out of their way to help, risking their career.” But at this point, the list is simply too long—so if you know, you know.   I also want to thank the amazing Prytek team, who has been with us for the last seven years, leveraging their financial services arm to create more and more partnerships with leading financial institutions, helping us become what we are today. Especially Andrey Yashunsky, who remained a strong believer even when times were tough—and there were plenty of tough times.   So, what’s next for me? TipRanks is at its prime. The number of enterprise clients and direct retail users is at a record high, and there’s no way I’m missing out on all the fun. Now that we are part of the Prytek group, we plan to work closely with them and their long list of satisfied clients. We also plan to double down on acquisitions. Acquiring TheFly last year was one of the best things that happened to us and proved to be a great strategy. Soon, we will be announcing another exciting acquisition in the space. Day 10: Nearly 100 VCs followed our Build-In-Public month 1! (plus a few founders and a couple of LPs!) In December Ralph King and I decided to open up even MORE the building of our #DeepTech VC firm and community. From January we pivoted to releasing our investor updates to the world 🌍 and show you what is like to build a fund from the inside. We were inspired, amongst others, by founders like Ankur Nagpal from Carry and the Open-Source Software (#OSS) movement we both love as engineers. 💻 I used to try and manually send a redacted version of our investors update to prospective LPs interested in our fund for later closings or future funds (the "not yet" investor camp). So we thought: surely we could be a bit more careful on the redaction and share it with the world? 🤔 So that's what we did :) And with our new (very alpha) #AI powering the data extraction and initial drafting, we launched. And now we are seeing the results! 🎉 1 #LP has reached out on LinkedIn asking for more info, and 2 fellow GPs mentioned they may have some companies fitting our strategy! Whilst we paused investment until this final closing is over, it's an encouraging sign. 🔥 Could we see the beginning of a Open-Source VC movement? Another successful @Upfront Summit in the books. @Rob Mazzoni from Wellington's Late-Stage Growth team and @Van Jones from Wellington Access Ventures enjoyed the content, as well as the opportunity to catch up with friends in the venture capital and limited partner communities. It was clear from these conversations that LPs have renewed excitement to back new and existing managers that show clear differentiation. For VCs, the returning momentum of underlying software customer buying behavior is providing confidence that 2024 could be an improved deal environment across sectors, with AI as the clearest driver.

Representation matters. It matters on so many levels, and being represented has an impact on most aspects of our lives. Having our voices, values and hearts be represented in our societies is the core of what it means to live in a cohesive, sophisticated society. But not everyone is represented equally. Did you know that financial markets, estimated to be $109 trillion, account for approximately 104% of the global economy. Financial markets are the tools big companies use to fund the work they do, for the future we want to see. It is how Apple for example was able to finance the research and innovation of the first iPhone, which was one of the first mainstream smartphones to feature a large touchscreen interface with multi-touch capabilities. What now is the standard, and more boundaries are getting pushed, was one day the new. But say it wasn't (just) about a touchscreen, say that it was about funding the research and development of efavirenz, a key component of regimens used to treat HIV/AIDS. Or a secure, convenient, and accessible online payment solution for millions of people worldwide. Say that it was about in 2010 funding the first cross-border money transaction tool that was made for the user, and not for the bank. Or that in 1980 funding research and development of key innovations and their acceleration would have kept CO2 emission to pre-industrial levels. Choosing to invest shapes everyone’s future. Yet the underlying complexity and uncertainty, makes most of us afraid to invest, making it so that only 6% of people globally invest in the stock markets. Our platform is not only about investing; it's about empowering individuals to support the causes they believe in. Always a great reminder in the existing startup climate where $$ is seen as the answer far too often. Hack and leverage your way to momentum - every person you know is an unfair advantage through their skills, network, etc. If you're good at building relationships then lean into asking for favors (and be willing to reciprocate).
