From 2016 to 2023, it generated $716.2 billion in profits, making it the most profitable company globally. Aramco's reserves are 15 times greater than its nearest competitor. Saudi Is NOT Going to Increase Production Capacity Concerns about the Saudi kingdom's outlook on future oil demand have been raised by Saudi Aramco's decision to cancel its plan to boost its oil producing capacity. The decision was made after the announcement that the largest oil producer in the world, Saudi Arabia, was making headway on a multibillion-dollar project to increase output to 13 million barrels per day by 2027. With its current capacity, Saudi Arabia can produce 12 million, of which 9 million are produced daily now. A large amount of the supply buffer that traders were anticipating for later this decade will be eliminated as a result of this shift. It is costly to maintain the extra spare capacity, particularly given that the energy transition is expected to cause a decline in oil consumption in the future. Aramco also anticipates that the kingdom's broader internal plan to cease using oil for power production will free up an extra 1 million barrels per day of supply for exports by 2030.
