The date was chosen to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Aeronautical Division's founding within the Army's Office of the Chief Signal Officer in 1907. Interestingly, the first Air Force Day was celebrated by the Army Air Forces, not the U.S. Air Force, as it was established just after the National Security Act of 1947 was signed, amid uncertainties about the status of the air component of the military. The celebration was rooted in a recognition of the growing importance of air power in national security. As President Truman noted, "The great strategic fact of our generation is that the United States now possesses live frontiers -- the frontiers of the air -- and that the oceans are no longer sure ramparts against attack." This is the story of Operation Jedburgh. D-Day: June 6, 1944. The Allied invasion along the beaches of France changed the course of World War II and set the world order for the next 80 years. As the conventional forces landed, America’s first Special Forces units operated deep behind enemy lines. Three-man teams consisting of one American, one French, and one British operator parachuted deep into occupied France starting the night before D-Day. Their mission: to link up and partner with French Resistance forces to conduct sabotage, subversion, and disruption attacks to prevent the German Army from reinforcing the beaches of Normandy during Operation Overlord. Win at all costs. Post-World War II, American Jedburghs went on to form the foundation of the Central Intelligence Agency and later the United States Army Special Forces Green Berets. #6June1944 #DDAY This year I am privileged to visit Normandy and the area of Allied landing in 1944 in occasion of the 80th anniversary of #OperationOverloard. I honour all those who sacrificed themselves to liberate Europe on that day and overall in #WW2 and thinking of the complexity of the largest amphibious assault ever assembled, I reflect on the importance of #communication and #leadership on such fateful moments. The commander of allied forces, General Dwight D. #Eisenhower, delivered a memorable speech on the eve of one of the most significant military operations in human history. Eisenhower's #speech, also known as the "Order of the Day," is a masterclass in effective communication. It begins with a direct address to the "Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force," immediately establishing a personal connection and fostering a sense of shared purpose. 🤝 The speech emphasizes the global significance of their mission, stating that "the eyes of the world are upon you." Private Military CIA and Visigoth They say every war is fought differently than the previous. Today we have the United States of America as the new Rome, the new Middle Kingdom, etc. — Because all roads leads to the USA. France itself found its balance between democracy, and military might through its infamous French legion. Americans are still working on a well paid volunteer military. Through doctrines and education, Americans military are supposed to understand the unique nature of America military. It must kill people and break stuff like every military; however, it must always fall under civilian leadership. Military influences now permeate across all echelon of Americans. Down to movie making (influencing public opinions). The lines between civilian leadership and military leadership can no longer be distinguished. Best to see it as a blurry revolving door. Where military comes in with BDU and comes out in civilian cloths. Together they control and shape the decisions of Congress, president, and the people. Those they cannot control, commit suicide, get shot in the head, or fall off airplanes. The people formed a government to serve their need. The government formed the military to serve their need. Since the need to protect trade against Tripoli to holding peace across 200 countries. No one can dare look down on its military. But who is in control of that weapon of mass destruction?
