When disaster strikes you can count on the Kroger Houston team to be there to take care of the Community. Today we gave away water, ice, bread and cleaning essentials to the North Shore Community that were impacted by lasts weeks storms and still are without power.

We celebrated our ASPs today for ASP Day! We are so incredibly grateful for the support and backbone of the Houston Division, our incredible ASPs! We loved spoiling you today! Thank you for all that you do!

I often get asked by young founders and entrepreneurs for advice given the very challenging operating environment. Having lived the life of the start up and leading a public company, I put together a few of the lessons I have learned over this time. These are wisdoms we learned together at Starbucks in times where the wind was at our back and perhaps more importantly when we faced severe headwinds. It is an unsettling time for us all with so much uncertainty and volatility geo-politically and among our teams and for customers. It all starts with treating people well, leading with compassion and empathy through the lens of humanity. These are the values that seed great businesses and organizations. I hope these learnings are helpful to reflect on in these trying times.

Our associates, particularly our cake decorators, are trusted to be part of so many of life’s special moments, from decorating the perfect baby shower cake to birthdays, graduations, retirements and everything in between. They are memory makers, and our customers rely on them to deliver not only a fresh, delicious product, but one that looks as amazing as it tastes. Last month, 20 of our top Certified Cake Decorators, representing each of our Family of Companies, were invited to General Office for a friendly cake decorating competition and training on new skills they can take back and implement in their divisions. Celebrating Black History Month and Black Owned Businesses - Burns Original BBQ What started as sticky note dream has turned into a reality. The relationship between Burns Original BBQ and Kroger Houston Division began during the COVID-19 pandemic. An initial task of hosting pop-ups at local stores has turned into Burns having three bistros located in stores across the Houston Division. I'm super proud of Cory Crawford and the Burns Original BBQ Team. As part of Kroger’s commitment to creating communities free of hunger and waste through our Zero Hunger | Zero Waste social and environmental plan, The Kroger Co. Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation and Feeding America gifted the Houston Food Bank with a $225,000 grant this week!
