It's time to begin thinking about Spring & the home maintenance that goes along with it! Here's a quick checklist of items to keep you headed in the right direction!

Today is National Goof Off Day. And no one celebrated it better than Ferris Bueller. His motto was "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while you could miss it." And he most certainly lived by his words. Ferris managed to fake sick his way into his 9th day off of the year ("Nine times"); sing in a parade; impersonate Abe Froman, The Sausage King of Chicago to sneak his friends into an elite restaurant; go to a Cubs game; and convince Cameron to let the trio of friends " "borrow" his dad's 1961 Ferrari 250GT California for a day of adventures that the parking valets also enjoyed for a few hours. Ferris taught us to embrace life in the moment. Take a day off of work or school not because of a planned vacation or because you have a life event that needs attention. Take a day off to do something you've never done before. Do something fun. Do something crazy. Do something fun and crazy. And when you decide to take that day off, remember what Ferris said when Cameron asked him this about their upcoming day off: Cameron: "What are we going to do?" Ferris: "The question isn't, 'What are we going to do?'. The question is 'What aren't we going to do?" Happy National Goof Off Day! The reason why a lot of people quit jobs is for a variety of reasons. Let me look at why I choose to leave various roles. 1: Part time role taken for a season why while waiting for something else to start up ( School, Auto Racing Season, or full time job). 2: I walked out of a job a couple of times because I just could not deal the differences of opinion with management. 3: The way you leave a position like that is to keep your wits about you. First try to get something else lined up. Ask yourself and couple of other professionals outside your organization what they would do. Remember put yourself in the other person's shoes when you are walking out. You might want want to leave the place doing what that young horse is doing there. But society has a term for this and it is called assault. So you go do that as you are walking out. Then you get to relive all that stuff out for 3 years of court dates while you explain your actions. to a judge. Probably be let go from a nice job, because of the time in court. The best way to leave a company is with a smile on your face and telling people that you realize your time at this work place is over and it is time to move on. Be thankful for the season that it was.

🔄 Out with the Old, In with the New! 🌱 As the seasons change, so do our lives. It's a time for renewal, for shedding the old and embracing the new. This week has been a testament to that very notion. I decided to close a chapter of my life by paying off debts, closing down a business that I ran for over 8 years, and making space for what truly matters. It wasn't easy, but it was necessary. Sometimes, we need to let go of the things that no longer serve us to make room for the opportunities waiting on the horizon. But amidst the endings, there were also beginnings. I attended the annual Krown Corporate conference with my family, a first for my family even though we have been a franchisee spanning two decades. Surrounded by fellow franchisees, all working towards a common goal, I found myself immersed in a sea of inspiration and possibility. Instead of pitching my own ventures, I found joy in connecting with others, learning from their journeys, and celebrating their successes. It was a reminder that we're all on different paths, but our destination remains the same – success and growth. And to top it all off, our hard work was recognized. Being acknowledged for Outstanding Growth in 2023 was not just a pat on the back, but a validation of our relentless dedication and perseverance. But this is just the beginning. As the saying goes, "Onward!" We've cleared out the clutter, made space for greatness, and now it's time to seize the opportunities that lie ahead. To everyone who has supported me along the way, whether through a simple appointment or a kind word of encouragement, I am endlessly grateful. Your belief in me fuels my journey forward. So, as we embrace the changing seasons, let's also embrace the changes in our lives. Let's continue to strive for excellence, to push boundaries, and to never lose sight of our dreams. Here's to new beginnings, to resilience, and to the unwavering spirit of hard work. Onward, indeed! Being an Army brat taught me a lot. Kid-me didn’t realize it then. But now I can look back and appreciate what I learned: -Anticipate what you need and be prepared (Better have the radio down and ID out when approaching the gate) -There’s a balance between adapting and forging your own path (You quickly learn this after a few moves) -Be punctual (Get home before base curfew starts otherwise you’ll be having a chat with a passing MP) -It’s a small world. Be kind, you never know who you might cross paths with again. (More than once at new posts, I reconnected with old schoolmates from previous ones) And lastly: -Don’t half ass your work. (My dad never did. Still doesn’t!) I take these with me and apply them as we continue to build our recruiting agency, Horizon Enterprises, LLC. Building a company is a continuous process. And there’s still more to learn. More challenges to expect. More wins to celebrate. And we’re ready for it!
