Huge shout out to LEGO for making a BOLD change to encourage climate-friendly behavior! 🌎 "From 2024, a portion of our salaried employees' bonus payments will be tied to annual emissions" This is brilliant and a change I can see other companies making to their packages, internally. To reduce the total carbon emissions in an organistion, everyone needs to make climate-conscious changes to their routine, operations and lifestyle. I believe a financial incentive is a brilliant way to drive change within corporate companies. What have LEGO already done? 🌱 2023 was the second consecutive year that less than 1% of waste generated from LEGO factories went directly to landfill. 🌱 LEGO have partnered with the WWF to promote sustainable manufacturing and supply chains. 🌱 LEGO have pledged they will achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and have embraced Science Based Targets. LEGO applied its creativity to advance its sustainability, and to recognize its employees as they play their part in its positive impact agenda. Following a series of climate-focused commitments, such as committing to a 37% reduction in emissions by 2032 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, the LEGO Group has now introduced a new annual KPI to motivate its employees to contribute to the company's emissions reduction efforts across its factories, stores, and offices. Starting in 2024, LEGO's salaried employees will be eligible for bonus payments linked to the company's annual emissions reduction targets across scope 1, 2, and one scope 3 emission category (business travel).
